The approaching autumn makes you want heavier and warming cloths, like these beautiful tweeds.

These are woven by an artisanal mill in Scotland, called Woven In The Bone.

Someone pointed out its not your cup of tea after you posted the picture?
FFS. Its non stop gibberish coupled with endless web site and social media images.

As I see , it's not the fine gentleman's art to disqualify others' posts without any comment as you do, when the reason is not clear.
It seems that you dislike anything that only slightly is not "classic", that is a little colouful, with some quirky pattern or something else: do you only wear navy and charcoal?

Hugo, is that you`?

I don't think I'd wear any of those as a shirt. Maybe the first one on the right. but not a massive fan.

I quite like a bit of tattersall. Not over keen on that one, wouldn't be my first choice. Never had a flannel shirt, quite nice under a bit of tweed or chunky knitwear at the weekend. I did toy with the idea of getting some of this off Acorn but never got round to it.

You did well not to buy that, too formal for a brushed cotton.

I've got half a dozen shirts made up from Acorn Fife. My favorite winter shirting.

I'll have to order myself a shirt length. Its a first for me, would it be 2m Doghouse?
2m covers me easily. I'm not sure what my torso length is offhand, but I'm 5'11" and typical proportion. My biggest issue in shirts (and jackets for that matter) is I have a big drop. 42" chest but only 31" waist. Otherwise I'd buy a lot more off the peg shirts.

Wow, that is a big drop. I'm 6'5" so my problem is sleeve length. More on jackets and coats than shirts. Its tough finding long sizes here. One shop that stocks Canali does one or two L's in sports coats each season and thats it. I can get Finamore shirts with a longer sleeve here, or get an Inglese. Really I'd be prefer to just buy Inglese OTP, fits good and quality cloths and details but the customs is a killer. What with that and the post...

sleeve length.

Now that you mention it that is another problem because if I size for my chest, the sleeves are too long.

I just had a couple new H&H shirts done up, I'm thankful the bespoke service there is not terribly much more than buying say Inglese OTP.

The grenaded old collar on my beloved puppytooth oxford shirt is going to the great shirtmaker in the sky now.

Could you say how long did you wear that shirt? I already asked you about it, did you consider replacing the collar? Or is it too much trouble, thus better to have a new shirt? Is the new identical to the old one?

It's about 6 years old, but mostly just spring and fall wear.

The fabric is way too faded to recollar, it would be very noticeable.

Gentelmen,
I am in search for a Scottish cashmere gun club; preferably vintage.
Something along the lines of the 2nd from the top here, the top one looks little bit bold...
Standard books are scarce on Gun clubs & more so on cashmere .
Any tips, based on your real life experience, where to look?

Hello,

I'm looking to buy vintage tweed or country-worsted fabric. I'd be happy to pay 350-400 pounds sterling per length. The sort of cloth that FriendCustomer showcased is the perfect example of the cloth I'm looking to purchase.
