apparently lipinski and weir are killing it as the figure skating announcing team. some people think they're being mean.

How should medal counts be ranked? Gold = 3, Silver = 2, Bronze = 1 or just number of medals? Media outlets aren't consistent.

CBC and some others rank total medals.

The IOC goes by number of gold. If tied in number of gold, number of sliver is next to he assessed.
 
The after glow of Vancouver isn't shining so well for the Canadians. How are we stuck behind Norway?

How does one dope in curling? I sweep faster and less out of breath?

The French ice dancer flashed the judges throughout her performance. Who knows, it might have increased a few decimal points.

Norway was picked to lead the medal count from the very start. Followed by Germany the US and then Canada.

Canada is actually ahead of where it was supposed to be after the first half. One gold away from the pre-games predictions.

Only the curlers are shitting the bed except for the mixed gold which no one expected.

Tissue healing, mood, concentration. The mixed is a two person game versus the normal 4 person team.
 
As one of the few Canadians on this forum, I've watched about 45 seconds of the Olympics this year and all of it was from a piece on US athletes on NBC Nightly News.

The US deserved to win. They were faster than Canada and more disciplined. Fucking Canadian chicks took too many penalties. Could not pass worth a damn and no one on the team has a slap shot to save their lives.

Fuck them too. They demonstrated very Amerikan sore losership. Taking the silver medal off with disdain and whining about the shoot-out format for OT. Goddamn chicks with dicks.

Fuck'em. They would not whine if they won in a shootout.

Most people will shrug their shoulders. They are not elite or NHL-calibre.

No one is expecting them to win.

If they do win, it will be a happy surprise.

Decent chance now that Sweden is gone and if they get by the Germans, who have surprised they will have to beat the Czechs (unless there is another upset)
 
I thought the fifteen year old figure skater was very good. All the experts on BBC were saying the existing champion should have won again. However, to me, she did not seem as graceful or spectacular. British skater said she did all the twirls at the end of the routine and that made a difference.

just read an article that these girls are also used as sex slaves for the top party members when they are not cheering. if they service the bosses and keep their mouth shut they eventually get married off to military types.
