I've been eyeballing a Citizen Tsuyoya for a little while now and I didn't even know they made a sub-seconds version. I'm a bit torn on the spotted face but its interesting to say the least:

Citizens came in today. Of the two normal Tsuyosa's, the navy blue is almost black so I don't really like it as much. The light blue is interesting but I'm on the fence. Same with the sub-seconds, which looks very interesting but I'm just not 100% sold on it. I'll try to get a few pics in the sunlight to post.decided to pick this up on their black friday special. that plus cashback and an amex offer made it a pretty damn good deal.
trouble is, i can't decide if i like the normal Tsuyosa better, so I'm going to buy one of those as well. having trouble deciding on a good face color so I figured I'd ask you guys. suggestions welcome:
How about this one for ~660 USD:Still one of the best watches I've ever owned. Sadly, their prices have shot up so much that the value proposition isn't what it used to be.
This was my old watchHow about this one for ~660 USD:

Not a Flieger but it is a nice, clean watch at the price you are used to from like a decade ago.
I like the 4 o'clock crownFinally had a sunny day out to take some pics:

Not a tremendous fan of the navy face as it looks almost black when you're inside.
I could also swap out for any of the other Tsuyosa watch color faces but none of them struck me as particularly sexy other than the red.
The navy?I like the 4 o'clock crown
Yeah it’s not exactly a world beater but for about $200 after tax for the plain face and $300 for the sub seconds, they’re not a bad value.I like the band and case, but those faces aren’t doing much for me. Maybe if they deleted the date it could be cleaner and I’d like it more.
in general. but the navy is the best to me. Just reminds me of my old man's watches from the 70's. not in a good wayThe navy?

I’m just not sure I’m in love with either of them enough to bother.
Interesting. It definitely has an old school vibe to it which is why the other two kind of resonated with me because they sort of blended the old with a new or interesting vibe.in general. but the navy is the best to me. Just reminds me of my old man's watches from the 70's. not in a good way

Sent back the navy. Still tossing between the light blue or the blue sub-seconds.
I can't tell if this is a news story or a setup for a joke.A bakery owner was frontman in a million dollar laundering case, involving watches from the local Rolex store. Now's the store owner and a seller, also charged with fraud.
Decided to send both the light blue and sub seconds back. Neither really ended up standing out to me in any way.Sent back the navy. Still tossing between the light blue or the blue sub-seconds.
sound choice. were you replacing a daily driver or buying another?Decided to send both the light blue and sub seconds back. Neither really ended up standing out to me in any way.
Neither really. Was just trying to take advantage of a good black friday deal and had always been interested in the design. After seeing it up close its really nothing to write home about, even if its only $200.sound choice. were you replacing a daily driver or buying another?

I agree I don’t like the arrow hand either but #2 looks too much like the Brosnan era watches which were fine for their time but they seem kinda dated now. My vote goes to the uniqueness of the NTTD version but I wish Omega would do away with that pointless 10 o clock crown. Rolex manages to have a helium escape valve (is it really necessary unless you’re working under oil rigs?) without the need for a vestigial crown.Nice line-up of the Craig Omegas. I’m not a fan of those big arrow hands, so #2 (Casino Royale) is probably my favourite.

That used to be my fave as well, but I think the fauxtina and broad arrow sort of cheapen it. The Milanese bracelet isn’t very tool watch, but nobody is really wearing any of these for real work anymore.I agree I don’t like the arrow hand either but #2 looks too much like the Brosnan era watches which were fine for their time but they seem kinda dated now. Rolex was the first to add the superfluous HEV, then Omega and others copied it just because. Omega supersized it for more desk diver bling. The IWC aquatimer 3536 has a 2000m depth rating and is rated for saturation diving and has no HEV. Witchcraft? I can put eyes out with my PO HEV though.
