Baby Poop Shoes

Manton referenced the tan baby poop or band-aid colored shoe in his igent manual. This, like monk straps and chukka boots, is one of those things that are ubiquitous on #menswear but I never, ever see them in real life. Well, maybe a tad in the last few years, but I assuredly went a few decades not seeing them in the wild.

The darker, reddish Allen Edmonds chili color (which I like) poses enough issues for me. Is it seasonable in winter? Okay with darker trousers? The shades of walnut or chestnut or cornnut are too much for me. And I also worry that they would stain up awful and darken irredeemably, yielding charmless dinginess instead of some woodsy patina.

Leitmotif Leitmotif and his use of light AE Strands (or Neumoks??) with light blue trousers is the only example I've seen that I like. It's a warm weather and somewhat casual shoe to me, in that color. I cringe when I see the igent wearing tanny shoos with dark worsted suits.

I also wear them with my shark skin pentz and taupe pants like this one. With the one pant that is charcoal I don't wear them and the navy I stopped doing it.

If you ask walker he might say that I'm a psycho. I can't wear my tan neumoks with dress pants only jeans and chinos like in this that I posted a couple of weeks ago.

That British tan shade of the top two is about as light as I could go. They look good, I'm just not comfortable with the idea and unsure of ultimate practicality.
I'm not really warm on the tan Neumoks. The color variegation helps though. I think the bland homogenous tone of some leads to a lack of character similar to black, but minus the stark formality.

Speaking of baby shoes
You got a problem mate with my size 6.5 feet?

I really want to get a pair of oxblood shoes, but they are usually over 500 dollars and thats too much for me.

Yeah, there's a rich honey color there. It's warm and casual.
My Thorogood boots are just outside this range, but they are not at all dandy.

those are handsome

Indeed, I love the rounded toes. They come in Burgundy too, but I haven't seen any photos of them in burgundy. They also offer them in rubber sole, which ones would you go for?

I love Thorogood, I should have pulled the trigger on the Horse hide ones that Epaulet/leffot was selling a year or so ago.

i quite like the colours of all but the Neumoks. but the neumoks are more neutral and thus not offensive as bandaid/baby poop

I've got a pair of Chesters in that colour - very comfortable shoe - I have started to darken them a lot using a Burgundy + a Dark Brown polish/nuggett.

They do now make a nice Burgundy /Brown model.

Here they are in original colour a week or two after I got them and freshly TOPYed. Much darker now. So's my moods.

Thanks for the photos fxh and thurth. All of the sudden the thread is becoming a shoe porn thread lol. For 330 dollars I think they are a steal.

one of my customers has a two digit selection of docksides querbeet. of course this colour is among them. giving them a vintage look after a while is one of my favorite jobs. spring to come soon ...

understood, that we live in one of the most popular sailing resorts in europe and he has a getaway in greece.

scratching my head. well, the brits ...

generally speaking I'm all for different shades and I'm not overly finicky. versatility is my least concern. having that said, atm I'm looking for a green pair ...
