Yeah his bullshit with the masks has cost lives.
If you want to blame someone for the mask guidance then blame the CDC. Fauci was directing people to follow the approved guidance at the time. He doesn’t work for the CDC.

As for criticising that guidance, some of it is fair. But at the time, we didn’t know as much about the virus and it’s transmission. Plus, the messaging people were afraid that much of the public were too dumb to understand the difference between PPE and masks (turns out they were right in that - there are still posters in this threat who don’t get it). So everyone went out and hoarded toilet paper instead.

But all the bullshit gain of function secret bio weapon stuff is laughable and a danger to future scientific study.
They were doing gain of function research and some of that was sponsored by Dr Fauci's largesse through an intermediary. It's all out in the public domain so I don't why you guys are still arguing it's not the case. You don't think the Chinese military conducts bio weapon research and we are safe to off shore our virus research to China? Evidently we're not for starters based on this pandemic.

So your saying Dropbear, that a virus that doesn't affect humans then all of a sudden did after blood samples were collected from the animal without any experiments to mutant it to do so?

It’s hard to make out what you are asking, but Coronaviruses have been killing people since the start of history.

Again, look at some of the supposedly educated people in this thread who still can’t get it and imagine if we had sent them into an even bigger frenzy chasing N95s?

Now, in hindsight, a better message would have been:

‘If you see some pleb in the grocery store wearing an N95 then they deserve all the scorn and shade you can throw at them. We aren’t sure a cloth mask will help, but it can’t hurt so if you want to make one then go ahead’.

However, one of the greatest planning assumption fallacies we ever made was assuming people make rational health choices and can understand simple messages. Instead there are people taking horse dewormer because it isn’t as woke as monoclonal antibodies.

look no argument there. but his saying that we dont need masks killed people. partially this was the government's blame as well. the fact that we're STILL not producing N95's in bulk and shipping them out to people in the mail should be a crime punished by death. but there's a lot of that to go around from this pandemic.

i read something the other day that the usage of the monoclonal antibodies was considered to be a risk because they're only supposed to be used in hospital settings when in dire need and their widespread usage would lead to the virus developing a resistance to them much quicker than it should. is that a thing?

But this time it's different - that's what your profession has been telling us - if it's just another Corona virus then why all of this shit?
Source please?
Dude, source it yourself, it's all in the public domain and well reported. Albeit not fully in the MSM, but they're getting there. God bless them.

Yes, but you've stated that certain medications are horse dewormers and then within a 10 second Google search I find that said medication is approved by the Dutch authorities for medical use for humans for several ailments.

''...should be a crime punished by death.''

And after you've killed them, you can work your way up to those who have spread this respiratory virus to others. Wasn't that suggested yesterday on here, by those in the front line?

Bollocks and we need to take the decisions and policy back from the experts. Because they're no experts at all.

Never heard that one before! It is a fantastic treatment that is saving out healthcare system right now - keeping people out of hospital and in outpatient settings with minimal risks.

ok so more of your fringe tabloid bs that we proceed to debunk and then you a) ignore the facts and b) move the goal post. Got it.

Must be nice to have such a profound and subtle understanding of global politics and all its intricacies, better than anyone else, and all from a little hole in the dutch countryside.

that would be working my way down the chain, not up. and no, that has absolutely nothing to do with what i was saying.

Bollocks and we need to take the decisions and policy back from the experts. Because they're no experts at all.
and neither are you so i'd rather at least have someone mildly knowledgeable in the subject. we just have to start weeding out these careerists and people who are more interested in popularity than doing the right thing.

That would be funny if they would actually suck it up and initiate a federal vaccine mandate instead of this patchwork of federal employees, healthcare workers and this large employer test or vaccinate requirement. We mandate a bunch of other vaccines so why not this one?

"The more the virus spreads, the more opportunity it has to evolve into strains that could escape current vaccines. The Lancet reviewers suggest there could be bigger gains from creating booster doses that better match circulating variants, much like flu vaccine is regularly updated, than from just giving extra doses of the original vaccine."

I think that is beside the point. Even if one agrees with vaccine mandates, it is still very hypocritical on the part of these leaders. It would be much better leadership to be upfront and explain that measures might be necessary and talk about parallel cases from the get go—rather than act like a mandate is simply unthinkable and preposterous and then then gesturing toward the contrary—just another huge credibility hit, which only makes people more distrustful and less compliant.
