Creepy Clown Craze

Is anybody else here getting as big a kick out of this as I am? All over America, it seems, clowns are running amok, terrorizing women and children, brandishing weapons and generally creating a climate of panic and fear. I gather the craze is spreading abroad as well. Hard to believe, but it's actually happening. I, for one, just love it! I have always regarded clowns with fear and loathing, and it's always gratifying to see one's cherished negative stereotypes of other groups confirmed.

I have to admit a fascination with this story. I'm honestly surprised more of these clowns haven't gotten their asses kicked yet.

There have been sightings of crazy clowns all over the UK. Now the police is going to take action.
Some people say it's the biggest threat to the party clown and circus industry ever.

I just learned that these "phantom clown" sightings are no new phenomenon. I was just reading a lengthy online article on the topic written over a year ago. Evidently, there is a rash of "sightings" spreading from place to place every few years. There was an especially big clown craze as far back as 1981. The clowns are nearly always seen only by children, and nobody ever seems to actually get hurt by the clowns. Evidently, it seems to be curious psychological phenomenon. It reminds me of the "chupacabra" panic among the Latinos over 20 years ago. I have to wonder if most of the Bigfoot sightings aren't similar in nature.
