Lenny is this bloke:
https://www.youtube.com/user/ToaoDotNet/videos

He is a recording that talks to telemarketers and often fools then for over 30 minutes into thinking he is a real person.

Lenny tells us we can use his recording also, and he tells us how we can hook him up to our phone by doing it the following way:

Want to talk to Lenny, or transfer/conference a telemarketer in with him? If you use VoIP and can call a SIP URI, he can be reached at sip:13475147296@in.callcentric.com. Or you can call him at 1-347-514-7296. (Prank calls to this number are not allowed. Lenny is for incoming, telemarketing calls only - not for annoying innocent people.)

So, what's all this VoIP and can call a SIP URI stuff about? How do l hook this bloke up to my telephone?

Is using Lenny safe and secure?

VOIP is voice over internet protocol. Basically, you hook your phone up to the internet and the calls are routed through your web service as opposed to having a dedicated phone line. I have it here in the US and its much much cheaper for me.

Here's a list of VOIP providers in AU:

The SIP scheme is more convoluted to explain. Here's a link to the wiki on it so you can try to take it at your own speed:

Now, as to whether using this Lenny service is worthwhile, I leave that up to you. But, with any full VOIP setup that has call blocking, you can filter out spam calls yourself via the company's web portal. That could be enough for you.

There's also "partial" VOIP - for want of a better term. Its what I have. Its a bit better. It is normal POTS to exchange then VOIP back of exchange. It allows emergency services to get the geographically location and is mostly better line quality. I get it with my all in Internet bundle (unlimited data too- all up $80 month) - so all calls are free to fixed and mobile in Oz and also 6 other countries. No line rental and same phone number of this house since before you all were born. I've only ever had one mobile phone number since 1994 too.
