Disagreeable Menswear Post Of The Day

At least hes clean and relatively neat - that gives him a 6/10 these days.

but - its look I see all too often - skinny, inappropriately skinny on older blokes, paper thin chinos. Call in the shooey Big Daddy Trouser Police.

He is a bloke who has tried but sadly free of any moorings and history and knowledge. ,

Its a shemozzle.
I hate those polos, colours and those particular horizontal stripes.

I dunno his wife's opinion - but she might not do better. going on those clothes hes probably got a bit of stuff in his wardrobe to throw together an acceptable outfit without going all Simon Crompton

He won’t win any style awards, but simply changing that awful polo for a tucked-in pale blue OCBD would rescue this mess.

The chinos are slim, but so is he - at least they aren’t strangling his legs.

One wonders what sort of sales he is in, at that age with that wardrobe.

OTOH that colour polo is probably what doghouse doghouse has multiple copies of to wear to his expensive yacht club formal nights.

One of the reasons I’d continue to highlight Massura is that there is so little good tailoring available in Germany. There’s Maximilian Mogg in Berlin, but that won’t be to everyone’s taste. There’s the ex-Anderson & Sheppard cutter James Whitfield in Berlin too, but generally it’s stores offering Italian brands - and not that many of those.
German style might not be to his liking and there are no freebies to be had but that's just plain ignorance. We all know he's a shill but when you claim to be a menswear journalist you should at least be able to use google, even Hugo managed to do that.

I agree because that is a a staggeringly ignorant statement to make. Not to justify his nonsense but Simon is in love with soft tailoring/ Italian etc and most of German tailoring ( well, the tailoring culture) often presents more structured tailoring .

Look at his example of the tailoring offering, the igent/ Pitti type like Maximilian Mogg who is a nascent hobbyist.

Then again, maybe it is his way of drumming up interest in Germany so the German tailors can reach out en masse, and offer him suits/OJs as comp.

Some good deals to be had, but some of those Versace silk shirts are very expensive being over 3K. So many unworn shoos.

I reckon these Versace shoes would have been made in the 90's. Modern Versace shoes are not made like that anymore.

You don’t like him making them look like Red Wings with bright eyelets and natural sole edge treatment. Curious to be sure.

To me a proper Balmoral boot is a very formal shoe in black, but this shoemaker makes them in a casual leather with natural sole edge treatment, contrast eyelets and an austerity brogue design with a bulbous toe. Simply awful! The bloke wearing them pairs them with light grey stove pipe trousers...just beyond revolting. There is nothing good about any of it, and it amazes me that people do stuff like this. I dunno who the guy wearing them is, but he would be young, and he screwed up BIG TIME with that combo.

I will check out his other posts and see what else he wears.

Yep...just like l suspected, he screws up regularly.

He wears the dreaded pebblegrain tan Galways with grey worsted suit trousers.

He also wears grain corrected hybrid captoe oxfords/sneakers that he probably mistaken for shell cordovan lol.
