Eidos, The Poor Man's Isaia

Eidos is all the rage over at SF. From what I have seen, the proportions are all wrong and unflattering. But since I am an untailor (but no homo), I want to have Sarto's expert opinions on this wannabe brand, soon to be pushed out of most brick and mortar stores.

you are clearly haven't done your homework. read the normanwalksalone thread : the silhoutte is very liverano. altough the brands owner is isaia , eidos should be seen as rtw liverano. which makes it much much more desirable for igents. look closely at the rounded open quarters!

Bullshit, the Tipo cut looks very nice. The Lorenzo is a bit peculiar. Looks good on very skinny people, not so good on the rest.

only pictures on which it looks good or really good is in the selfies that the good looking smiley bearded guy that set up the brand posts. all other eidis selfies that i saw in nmwa and waywn look plain bad or pretty bad at best. but happy to be convinced. maybe i just saw the wrong pictures. please attach some good eidos looks.

This was just a quick fitpic, before I shortened the sleeves. It's the only robopose pic I have, so it'll have to do. I'll bet you a beer you can't find a nicer fully canvassed jacket for this price.

The silk/wool fabric is very nice, and the lapels aren't bad either.

Curious about the new exclusive cut coming for NMWA, although I probably won't like any of the fabric choices.

I don't know anything about this since I'm not skinny nor shop at SF, but in comparison to regular ISAIA, where would this Eidos line rank in their quality hierarchy?

Wasn't RTW Liverano made by Isaia? From what I have seen, the jackets are too short, and the button stance too low which make the wearer square and fat.

I have never seen it, the pic above looks pretty good, but even most of my friends works as patternmakers on Isaia, i disslike the English armoured cut of them. Shirts are ok.

Lol, that jacket makes me look anything but square and fat. A higher button stance would be awful, in fact, it can even be a bit lower.

Don't you know the button stance should be around your natural waist? I suppose you prefer jackets that button at your chest.

You must be one of the sissy narcissist that Sarto so famously exposed, as I wasn't even talking about your jacket.

the jacket is... a jacket. don't have any particular feelings about this one

but

are you wearing white socks?
or pink socks?

or no socks? and very white feet?

I updated the thread title as we're trying to contain the Sarto crazy as much as possible.

agree it looks half decent and much better than the silly open quarter model i have seen so far . this silhouette basically looks like a regular isaia .

Slightly wider lapels (4"), a more swelled chest, and more natural shoulders than a regular Isaia. I prefer the Eidos fabrics as well. It's also around half to a third of the price.

It's a great deal at full price, and a steal at their sale prices. There isn't anything else in the market at this price point that even comes close to it, so I really dont get all the hate.

Yeah, IGents fawn over it, but they do that over everything, so that's not an indicator of whether something is good or bad.

It's good that Antonio is trying to push back on retailers asking for ever slimmer and shorter jackets, so just for that Eidos should be commendable.

Hell, the Tipo is relayively short already, and retailers want it an inch shorter for next season. I guess Americans are just really short?

Why do you prefer the fabrics?

They're a bit more casual and not as shiny as Isaia. Isaia is more of the high supers numbers, right?

Both of my Eidos jackets are a wonderful wool/silk mix, and my suit is a very nice navy Fresco pinstripe.

What's an Eidos jacket set you back? Like 600, 700 quid full price? Not bad value but hardly a "great deal". Corneliani, Belvest etc. would be similar quality (or better) for about the same price, and they also go on sale.

I like the fit of Facemonkey's jacket, but most of the stuff I've seen doesn't justify the hype.

Monkeyface Monkeyface can I expect an answer or do you only respond to messages which highlight the niceness of your nice jacket?

Corneliani is too slim for me, and the Belvest shoulders are too square. I got my jackets for $250 on sale, but full retail price was about $900 I believe. Not a bad deal at all. If sales weren't going on in NYC when I was there I would've bought it at full retail as well.

nonono I was wondering about your socks!

Oh, I wasn't wearing any, as it was a quick fit pic for someone who was in NYC as well and was considering buying the jacket too.

I believe I switched out jackets and put on some nice dark brown Bresciani socks before leaving the hotel. I generally don't go sockless anymore, unless I'm going to the beach or something.

Did the jacket come with unfinished sleeves?
If so, how many buttons did you put on the sleeves?

Yeah. They offered to finish them in the store for free, but I didn't have time for that.

I was planning on sewing on 3 buttons, but got lazy after the second button, so it has a 2 button sleeve right now. One and two button sleeves are not entirely uncommon in Italy, so I kept it that way. I might sew on the third button sometime.

How many buttons do you have in casual jackets?

Sorry I don't quite understand. The sleeves are set up for working buttonholes off the rack or not?

Why is that?no that you are sexy (sarto knows) but why you use only one button. Isn't a Italian thing only? I saw it also in Old Holywood pictures but never in real life

Hopefully you haven't chosen his mode of transport - you would be crushed in a second by Rasheen drivers

That looks like a nicely done 1-button cuff. Nice placement. Button is not oversized as some I have seen.

Have you done 1-button cuffs on suits? Casual suit?
