Equipment I Saw For Sale Worth Owning

Who's Naim fooling with proprietary speaker plugs? Can't be a sonic reason no?

They're not. Any banana plug will fit. It does on the back of my amp. They've even stopped with the DIN only connectors and are using RCA now. I've spent good money on DIN to RCA and RCA to DIN cables.

Why does the guy who the seller bought it from list this in his original listing: The unit comes complete in the original factory carton, power cord, DIN4 cable, speaker cable adapters, and owner's manual.

I've never seen a female banana plug that huge either.

Ah, he means this. Naim sells this thingamabob, but it's not required. The diameter of those plugs is a normal size.

built-in DAC

Exactly... it's an integrated amp with a built in DAC. I use optical as a signal source to my DACs so I wouldn't get much use out of this unit.

Plus, I like looking at a thick stack of equipment. This unit is for a weak male that let's his shitty wife push him around.

I've never seen that particular model before but Connoisseurs are ok for entry level, significantly short on chassis, platter, and idler wheel mass to be considered high end. Motor's small too.

If you want to be serious about LP playback I recommend a refurbished Garrard 301 or 401 which are easily obtainable, of course the plinth is just as important. I have a couple very rare and massive 16" platter Rekokuts stored at one of my engineers waiting for my commission, really look forward to that upgrade in the future.

Of course if you were wealthy you'd just order the $25k Shindo 301, which is the Garrard on steroids.
