The jap is a good guy, really devote to the craft. I attribute the stylistic choices of his commissions to his young age. I'm about to convince him to use my tailor instead of Pirozzi always on via Chiaia 197 who charges him twice the price.

Do you really think that a guy that wants a mararo suit and describes his style as mafia style is going to get what he wants from iorio??? Besides the fact that scoobie doo is already getting a sweet deal from mimmo having cut out the mararo markup (partially)

mimmo puts on a craft porno show at 197 and might even give him a reach around, not quite the same show on Nardones, unless he gets off on being yelled at in Neapolitan.
I have a fresh story from 197... Mimmo has turned into the Neapolitan Frank.

he does skype fittings, sells funny hats or makes wooden ducks? Please share
Spent 30 minutes telling me why he is the only real tailor left in Naples, went over every single detail in my jacket (some of the finishing was very... artisanal let's say), and then proceeded to share with me that of course the price he had given me for this suit was "introductory", and further commissions would need to be at a different price, to be discussed on a case by case basis.

Hermes ties seem to generate a lot of hate and anxiety here and among the igents in general.
I really like some of Hermes' designs - quite a few years back, they did a series of prints based on Aesop's fables that were really nice. However, I've always had difficulty getting a nice-looking knot out of Hermes' ties. For some reason, the knots are always small and it's difficult to get a decent-looking dimple.

i adore marinella ties.
Marinella ties are excellent - lovely silks, decent heft, and tie a good knot (unlike Hermes!).

I have a couple of old Drake's ties that are nice, but most of their ties for the past decade have been too skinny - virtually all that Drake's make nowadays are 7 - 8cm in width.

More or less standard napoli business practice. He no doubt spotted that you were a non-serious bespoke tourist

I do love this thread, the very name, dares me to spill the beans.

But I will keep my powder dry...for now.

Keep it up you herd-pack-stalking-fakers!

The more you entice the feeble minded, the better it is...

No history was sought out. The day you quit this forum after showing your dogheters over 18 prison porn, i happened over to FNB and took some screenshoots
I suggest you start a new thread on that. This is not 4F Hepcat's thread. Please start one on him. He's itching and scratching for one. I can assure of you of that.

This is Friend Customer's thread, of which we have found, one of his mentors has pissed on him as a fake and fraud.

And that was only the opening salvo.

The same mentor that sent you gay prison porn watched by your dogheters.

Well that's you bag isn't it? I don't expect anything other than your modus operandi: hunt in a pack and be low IQ on the sartorial vision front and when you get the chance drown everything out with gay BDSM prison porn. Inn't!

Ololololololo Pimpernel Smith Pimpernel Smith you must be the most dense guy on this whole forum. And that’s quite an achievement.

Did you forget to take your meds today? Or are you self medicating and having a very bad trip?

Bye bye chump.
You don't think you, or whoever he was, fake, real or pretend, did not dismiss Friend Customer as that?

Ignore me, or indulge me as you like to do. You need me more that I need you. Which is sad, because I want you to go forever.

You think that's enough to get me banned? We'll soon see won't we.

Even your own kind dismissed you as fake.

Seems like a class B personality disorder to me.

Also I have no idea what you are talking about.

Do you have any idea, remotely, what you are on, or on about?

No need to answer. Let me remind you:

ololo thats the best you got. That a guy who has a history of trolling you, has effectively trolled you more than once, in leading you to believe my modest collection of semi vintage T&A ties are fake. Even though i have in the past posted multiple photos of such ties separately and with a variety of jackets and suits to this very board. Just look it up. You are now just making a fool of yourself.

No doubt. This shit would never happen to a Big Daddy like you.

Trolling aside, the other 3 Neapolitan tailors I have been dealing with have been nothing but professional, incredibly nice and accommodating, so not sure what constitutes "standard Napoli business practice", but I don't think it applies to high end tailors.

Carry on.

Wow, you are easily offended. Let me explain...

Obviously you should have expected a different treatment at the other three tailors you tried. Two of those are former head tailors at rubinacci. A luxury outfit (just like e.g. Caraceni), targetted at dealing with int’l clients and more importantly applying an int’l approach to their business. That is very uncommon in napels. Paone and panico continue to apply that practice to their current businesses. I have nothing but good experiences with them too.

i have no first hand experience with dalcuore. But i’m sure that they have been thought a lot on how to work with int’l clients and apply int’l business standards by ethan and the chinaman at brio beijing (and now countless other azns). Like they have groomed ambrosi (read up on him). you are however completely wrong to assume that their way of doing business is the standard by which the majority of other tailors in and around napoli will treat a new customer.

You completely misunderstood my comment. any way, just carry on. Nvm

Wasn't offended, just found your "non-serious bespoke tourist" characterisation amusing, let's say. You can't deny it sounds like coming all the way up from a very high horse, my dear. I don't know what differentiates a serious from a non-serious customer in your eyes, and I'd be very curious to learn more about it.

In any case, I would expect the treatment I got from the others (as well as a few more I've dealt with over times in Naples, like Cerrato, Golia, Capelli, etc.) to be the standard, and Mimmo to be a bit of an outlier, which up to the antics part I thought it was part of the show.

Business-wise, If everyone else in Naples behaves like Mimmo, and my international friends are the oddity, then so be it, I'll probably keep on taking my business to the ones that don't change prices on the go. All things being equal, I don't see what the added benefit would be to continue encouraging this business practice.

If the better standard comes from serving international clients, then great, that's what Mimmo should be doing too (by the way he has plenty of international clients and does not shut up about them either). I imagine he would like to keep on making money with his business, right?
