It's always five o'clock somewhere

Nothing that fancy. And it says tequila right there on the label, duh!

Taking the fam to some Xmas village thing and then I’m gonna need a drink, but all I have at home is a bottle of dark and light agave someone gave me. What the hell do I mix that with? Or is it like a tequila shot?
“I have two bottles of tequila”

Why was this so difficult for you to communicate?

Blanco is unaged. Reposado is aged months to a year. That is what is in your cocktail most often unless you specify. Its a good sipping tequila too.
sadly most cocktails are made with blanco these days due to cost, even though they're not supposed to be.

F$ck it took six tries for Wordle today because this smoking hot South American bartender was distracting me.

Nothing like sitting at a sports bar with 300 television screens where they play Be My Baby - Ronettes and the bloke with shaggy hair at the end of the bar with a walking stick reeking of cigarette starts karaoke.

Also wearing the kit of a defunct baseball team.

I've been drinking wine from a tetra pack. Did you know it has 1L of wine instead of 750ml? That's a 25% bonus according to one brand's labeling.

I also realised I am buying the wrong boxed wine. 3.1L for $38.95 when there's a $42 one for 4L.

Still sounds kinda pricey. I get a bottle of Jacob’s Creek from the supermarket for $6. Or splurge on 19 Crimes for $9.25.

What’s the cask wine like? There’s a wine glut here pretty much always. Used to buy casks now bottles. Helps cut down on excessive slurping a bit. Been getting a decent Merlot for $3.95 believe it or not but usually go for a pretty good Shiraz at $20 for 2 on special. Usually they are $14-$16 each . Beer is what has gone all expensive. Silly prices $22 for a 4 pack at times.

Jacobs Creek @$6 after shipping to murka?
It often dips under $5 on sale. All Australian wine is much cheaper here because we aren’t being hit with all the taxes. Sadly, the only Aus beers available are Fosters regular & bitter and Coopers.

Luckily for me, these guys opened down the street:

Decent Aus style lagers. They do a good lammington and sausage roll, though their pies are a bit too fancy.

1 USD is 1.36 CAD

There are some but not a lot of sub $10 CAD wines at the government stores. You need to wait for a sale and it is usually Italian unaged white or South American or sometimes South African. I have been buying from wine shops that distribute Canadian wines bypassing the government monopoly pricing so there is a dollar or two of discount.

Casks? You can buy cases of bottles from local wineries. Not heard about a cask unless that is the make your own wine stuff.

Can't drink beer much anymore. My alcohol tolerance is pretty high so a 4-7 percent beer doesn't even give me a buzz. I usually drink Italian and French wines but due to my dire financial straits I have been trying to find more economical ways to indulge.

Normally I would never try domestic wines unless it was served at a sports game or theatre or cinema in plastic cups.

I dated a girl whose dad owned a vineyard for a while. He gave me the sage advice to never develop an educated wine pallet. Enjoy the cheap stuff! There are plenty of affordable wines that are very good.

It‘s already having alarming consequences:

I think you call cask wine boxed

I have always reckoned that if draught beer is just as good if not better than bottled beer, casked wine ought to be able to match up with bottled, unless you enter the realm of wine BIG DADDYism.

I’m raiding the liquor cabinet tonight, since I’m out of beer and wine. I either try to mix something with a tequila or vodka or I try this:

Lunch was five hours yesterday at a Chinese restaurant midtown that only had half bottles of pinot grigio (5 were consumed between 2 people).

Not sure cannabis helped after.

I tried to buy some Gay Beer just to piss-off some triggered boomers, but the supermarket was all out.

I had Bud Light radler once just to piss off a mate of mine.

I apparently cannot party as much as I used to. 1/4 bottle of vodka for brunch, 1 bottle of wine for dinner, 1 1/2 bottles of wine at the party + 3 or 4 casamigo shots, one very sweet cocktail someone insisted I drink + a cigar, some puffs of not so legal marijuana, clove cigarettes and wandering home by 4am.

Was at Don Alfonso crashing the bar without any reservations for the one star dining area. Met one of my old cocktail club bartenders and he mixed some classics and gave us some free drinks. Apparently one of them made enough money he is opening a new bar in my neighbourhood.

An American was telling me about Blanton and the unique collectible bottles. Does anyone imbibe in this brand of bourbon?

Been a good week.

I show up at Michelin star restaurant and he makes me my favourite cocktail.

I show up at home bar and they bring me Johnnie Walker and water with ice.

I show up at the stadium and I get pinot grigio from my usual concession.

It's like Esp.

I bought a 4L box of wine and then used the spout to fill up my coffee cup so I could drink it on a bench in front of the waterfront.

I bought a 4 litre box of pinot grigio + chardonnay. The things people come up with.
