Menswear Experts - Do as I Say Not as I Do?

I like Alden's aloofness myself, but I'm not that exposed to it. Will is probably the best dressed insurance salesman in the Midwest.
Exactly on Manton. The average man can do better off the peg. The coat seems to accentuate vertical length and be an inch or more longer than it should be. It seems to drop well below the crotch and the body seems oddly loose compared to the sleeves and legs. The straight leg is not his friend either.

Aloofness is actually a positive I think. The thing about Alden is his writing style is very over the top. He thinks he is Honore de Balzac reincarnate. That, and he thinks any cloth must be burlap weight to be worthwhile. Not so bad if chilling on the Continent, but pretty iffy in the US Southeast.

Fine line between shyness, arrogance & aloofness; can be good or bad. Very true regarding his writing and he quotes him too.

The Bespoke Forum

"The brute covers himself, the rich man and the fop adorn themselves, the elegant man dresses!"

-Honore de Balzac

The prevailing thought over at LL is that the best cloth is of the past and of a weight seldom seen anymore. This has led to some unique creations that are not necessarily appropriate for all climes. MichaelAy329 at SF is another that comes to mind for preferring overcoat weight cloth for his uniquely styled suits. On that note, more interesting than the cloths themselves is how - in the hands of LL'ers - they have been turned into some very interesting concoctions.

There are a few LL'ers who are very good and knowledgeble, Alden among them, but the vast majority of member are on Andyland level of stylistic conceptualization. Having or pretending to have obscene amounts of disposable income seems to be the most common trait and the ideal for it's members to follow. Spending on items that start with the word "bespoke" is nirvana.

Poor Andy. He tries, but it never really works. Another paunchy guy in boxy horse blankets.
This Jacomet guy is interesting, despite the jackass girly hair, and I like most of his style. It's not my style, but it works on him and he looks at ease in his clothing. The man knows where a tie bar goes and I'm a sucker for the two button cuff

^^ Agreed. The Hugo guy is intriguing. His' clothes fit and he seems to know the boundary to push and not going over the edge, the blonde also adds a nice touch.

Who is he? Can someone give me some history of the people posted on the first page. I know who Flusser and Manton are, but the rest have no clue.

I'm partial to this Sven guy, of whom I was previously unaware, as he's close to my aesthetic. He's a bit retro and a bit dandy but knows not to get too nutty. I must point out that the last photo with more natural shoulders does not look as good. I find the fit and coordination fine, and he clearly enjoys clothing without being that prissy about it.

Winners:
Akamine

Decent:
Alden
Churchwell (though if he were less old and less black, some of those looks wouldn't fly)

Not as bad as I thought:
Will
Roetzl

Worse than I expected:
Manton

As bad as I remembered:
Flusser

A lot of mony spent by Manton to look so inconspicuously. Flussser , Will , or Andy's do dress nicely for their body shape.

Sven is a cross between AAAC and Fedora Lounge while Hugo is a French creep with his personal flair.

I was able to look beyond it, but note that at least one member is miffed over Nicky Wooster's high and tight.

Hugo, this is again one of the worst dressers ever. I told him as well on a chat how could be so bad dresser as well as friend and shill of the Spanish arstocrat ( the one who invited me to sleep with him)

This Hugo is also a socialist and member of french masonry ( and he is proud of it) I delete him and posted a pic of my french idol, Jean Marie Le Pen on his blog. jajaja

Gentleman´s gheyzette should be the proper name.

This abnormal looking who remembers Gianni, scary eyes, scary cannibal kind psycho who looks as can bite you on the neck at any moment, and totally schyzotypal, is another blogger. Blogger nowadays means ghey profanator of classic style with any idea about but shilling.

He is son of a brasilian native and a racial traitor German, ( this is for real ) hence he is Godless goblin defective creature, he hates the Christians, Jews and all religions ( as the Godless creature he is ( I have chatted with that degenerate as well as expossed all the fails his articles had, actually a lot).

He lacks of any elegance, just see the horrible fits or clown combos, knowledge or class but just to show off on ridiculous attires or terrible articles, on an article about the best dressing books, he places his own virtual book as number 1. Tell me what kind of behaviour but an inmature narcissistic is it.

In fact you can see any of the ones who read or comments on his blog is any expert but just countryside americans, he also censors random comments by great rednecks about Obama, so he is what i said and confirmed. Perhaps the worst and most dangerous blog after the big shill Crap-tom.

VOMITING WEIRDO!!!

You don't get his newsletter? It's got interesting stuff, if not always super deep.

We have a goldmine of personality disorders to project on the wall on my Uni, as exercise for the other students to diagnose. My friends the catedratics of personality disorders collect pics of this weirdos, CravatteNoire is the winner all this years.

Note on the Sven pics how he is looking at the top or the clouds smiling( clase sympton of deep disorder, as those who talk avoiding looking at your eyes) Lucca does the same i have been told in Naples, he looks at the top on meetings, dressing as a clown and laughs alone all the time, or with fake unexpressive or forced expressions, wow, deep case as i is obvious from any who dress this way, also his fits are poor. If any likes that terrible dandy unstyle, at least could do with proper fittings, not thrift random found sizes.

This disorderds lack of the sense of ridicule, hence the ridiculous posses they adopt, that all the normal people find disgusting, weird, odd and in resume abnormal. But what they try to project is that " they know far more than the rest, and dress as the most elegant people" what what they do is the ridicule of their lives, and get normal people avoids them.

Curiously they try to attract people to hype their weak self esteem but get just the opposite. This is a prove of how this deep personality disorders are and how this wackos need to put on a reeducation camp, both for society's needs, to avoid some soon crime, or for their own health.

Please pray for this Godless goblins.

Hey Sartodi Napoli Sartodi Napoli , do you have any examples of menswear experts that dress well in your opinion and who do not suffer from deep psychological profanations?

I wish to know the existence of any, i think they do exist, but as are not histrionics or bloggers , just do their image assistant job for cinema, Royal houses or politicians, get very well paid and return home to be a real elegant man, with their wifes and kids, not to a dark room to collect diseases as those exposed.

Do you know any?

Edited, this the resume and american friend of mine emailed me;

Nicky Wooster - FREAK ...... Sven Raphael Schneider - NERD ...... Hugo Jacomet - VERY STRANGE ...... Andy Gilchrist - HUMPTY DUMPTY in clothes. ALL TERRIBLE!

Interesting. I agree that Churchwell dresses well for who he is and others might not be able to pull it off.

What was it that changed your perceptions about Roetzel and Will?

Another friend, tailor as well answered;

satanic freaks

tailoring is for satanic freaks only

thats way i dont tailor a long time, only satanic people wear those ugly suits

unfortunately those satanic people who waer those suits looking like clowns, my suits are spiritual, completely different. Satan himself would wear my suits only, not that crap waht those neos wear

yes,

that's way throw away the tailor shit and get the bible out

forget the tailoring for satanists who stole the money from the poor

mostly gay people and satanists wear expensive garment

they are either gay, schizo, satanic

what is worse?

Sven is ok, afaik, I assume it is difficult to fund your sartorial journeys from MN, st. paul,

Both Sven & Hugo have some interesting content on the sites as compared to other menswear bloggers who have nothing but superficial crap, shilling & butt-licking. Hugo does a nice job on explaining the various shoe makers from cheap to expensive.

I really like his 3 piece houndstooth suit.

imo, he dresses well and is mostly on the point. I wasn't aware of his populrarity, though.

fwiw, I never met Roetzel in person. imo, he dresses well. my quibble: his correspondance style is "ign6rant"

More chatting with the old tailor;

Gentleman´s gheyzette should be the proper name.

you are right mostly there

those people in this forum are all gay and crazy

those are your customers lol

happy tailoring
