I'm probably going to change the title of this because its late and I'm not exactly being creative. This will be a thread for talk and reviews on new brands you stumbled on, or have recently tried out. For instance, I found this tie company while looking up knit ties for bdeuce22:

http://www.ivyprepster.com/

Some interesting looking ties on there. Those with the trad/ivy leanings might be very excited.

And this is the grenadine tie maker Lonestar was referencing in the What Did You Buy thread:

http://www.chipp2.com/

The instructions for ordering:
To buy one of Chipp2’s greandines, call Paul at (212) 687-0850 or visit his shop at 28 West 44th Street in New York City (it’s between 5th and 6th Avenue). You can also order them online through a slightly circuitous route. First go to Chipp2’s website and order one of the dog ties. Then in the comment section, tell him which color grenadine you want and the correct charge will be made on your credit card. He also accepts Paypal.

hilton is vestimenta rebranded for the american market (for some reason they think hilton is more appealing). slim cut, fantastic materials and good construction.

Interesting. They ever carry anything other than the suits? That's all that's online now.

Not a new brand, per se, but just read that longfangled Temple of Jawnz is shutting up shop.

I've been reading about their jackets since I got into #menswear years ago. Never owned anything by them, but kind of bittersweet to read.

Not a new brand, but I don't see them talked about much. I'm a big fan of Ratio Clothing. They do "simplified" MTM where you input your neck, sleeves, chest, length and fit. Shirts fit me perfectly in the "slim fit" using these measurements, but they will also do far more customization if you email and ask. Great customer service and shirts are made in the USA.

So far I have only tried the oxfords from them which have a decent collar and use fabric sourced from the same factory that Brooks Brothers uses. I'm considering one of the seersucker shirts next.

My only real criticisms of the brand are I wish they had a larger fabric selection and allowed you to upgrade the buttons to MOP.

They also have a $20 off promotion for new customers on the main site.

Why don't you add this to jrd's online tailor thread?

I am a big fan of Max Boxxer boxer shorts. They are roomy as hell, with that proper back panel. Some of their patterns/prints are sublime but the best part is that they somehow get the elastic right so that it has no more tension than necessary. They just sit comfortably without digging it. Made in USA. The same fabrics (sold by the yard) are also available in Hawaiian shirts and stuff.

Wow, some of those designs are ATROCIOUS.What do you mean by 'proper back panel'?

But, I kind of want this shirt:

As I said "Some of their patterns..."

I was totally wrong on that panel thing. Their construction is rather unusual. It's the standard panel on each side of the front and one big piece across the back. But the gusset is a big rectangular panel at the crotch going from one inner leg hem to the other, joining all these pieces.

I wish the baby turtle pattern was a better color. The theme is superb for men's underwear.

Not new by any means, but Epaulet announced they're opening a CA location in Santa Monica in August. Now won't have to pilgrimage off to NYC.

Brutus Trimfit shirts from Sourpuss with a code (15% off at the moment). Fabulous short sleeve shirts. The brand is an old skinhead staple, but once you get past that it's a well made, darted slim but not stupid tight shirt in some nice checks. Less than half the UK retail cost! They also do long sleeves, though I've never seen one. SP is also the only US retailer for Merc - mostly too mod/hipster and mediocre quality, but worth considering a shirt when deeply discounted. Merc Harringtons are very good.

Never heard of them before just now.

LBM 1911 Jacket:

Jacket from SF-user Tricky.

Trademark is the little white lapel pin. Unstructured shoulder, washed fabric, über-casual but so sharp. I guess the brand is Lubiam, all Made in Italy.

They're not "new" per se. Originally a part of Carmina years and years ago (or rather the Albedejo family's holdings). Had disappeared (bankruptcy?) and have just recently reemerged with new owners. Reviews right now put them closer to Carmina than Meermin.

Not a new brand, but funny to see the Crew jumping on Alfred Sargent. And look - a dub monk.

Also, FWIW, this catalogue has been a lot more "inspiring" than their last few efforts.

Urban Daddy has these pants from Proof on sale today for half off. Made in NY from newfangled materials. Anyone heard of these guys?:

https://perks.urbandaddy.com/nation...UD_NAT_Email&utm_campaign=PerksEmailPromotion

Meet Proof: an adventure-seeking group of tailors making the future of handsomeness right in New York’s garment district. Their greatest creation: the Nomad Pants. And they’ve never, ever been available at this price—until Perks came along...

Meet the Nomads: Proof’s most advanced article of pantsmanship, destined to become your favorite pair. Here’s what you need to know:

  • THEY’RE MADE OF SCHOELLER DRYSKIN FABRIC WITH NANOSPHERE—which in English just means “the crowning achievement of pants-fabric technology in the past millennium.”
  • WHAT THIS FANCY FABRIC MEANS FOR YOU:
    • THEY’RE FOUR-WAY-STRETCH, meaning you’ll be just as comfortable in a desk chair as you will be sitting cross-legged.
    • THEY’RE LIQUID- AND DIRT-REPELLENT—water, coffee, wine and the blood of anyone questioning your pants-wearing acumen slide right off.
    • THEY KEEP YOUR LEGS WARM while still letting them breathe.
    • THEY’RE NATURALLY FAST-DRYING.Meaning you don’t have to wait the extra 40 minutes for the dryer to finish before wearing them. (This is huge.)
    • YOU CAN JUST GENERALLY WEAR THE SH*T OUT OF THEM, and they’ll stay in handsome and hard-wearing shape forever.
  • ALSO, PROOF SWEARS these will be the most comfortable pants of your life. They’ll do a no-questions-asked return within 30 days if you’re not in a state of futuristic-pants-induced bliss.
  • AND YES, THEY ARE MADE IN THE USA. In a little hamlet known as “New York City.” Proof imports the fabrics from Switzerland, and then produces all of their garments in the garment district (go figure).

Haha, I thought they opened a few months ago. How much is the deerskin in there? Some have told me that it's much more expensive than here.
