Aye, the lack of socks was most disconcerting.

Good to see trousers moving in the right direction though.

You know what's sad? When the Chiaia guys were probably the most decently dressed out there...what has the world come to.

Mannby has gone off the deep end. Why is he at pitti anyways? He's been trying to launch a brand for 3 years now olol.

As always, a big thanks to FriendCustomer FriendCustomer for his valuable research and collating the best of pitti for us.

Who in their right mind would try to launch a new clothing brand in this market?

I'm sure there's money to be made. There's probably too much competition in accessory brands like Arnathor's jockey club, but Suitsupply still doesn't have a good competitor, and they keep opening new stores, showing there's plenty of demand. They still adhere to that early 2010s slim & skinny trend, so if a competitor were to launch with similar prices and quality but with a better, slightly more forgiving cut I'm sure it'll do well. Neapolitan suits for all!

Boggi is a good peer competitor but their online marketing is bad.

Lower quality ? Certainly not. Never seen polyester in their fabrics, even the low-cost line. Besides, depending on the maker (I think to Lardini on their midcost offer) the construction can be very good, often better than SuitSupply.

Here in Italy they have plenty of fussed stuff made with wool poly blends. Some of their jackets, especially the light unconstructed ones, are very nice.

I speak only for their parisian shops but their fabrics sourcing is rather good: VBC, Guabello, Fratelli di Delfino. No trash bag fabric but I haven't seen everything. Their full canvassed line is top-notch for the price. Better than Jort.

If you like the cut and it fits? I don't doubt that, but it's not really for me, I do, however, have a sports jacket made for them by Caruso I think in vintage VBC cloth.

So no socks cus they all donated to children in Africa, right?

And speaking of Africa, where are the people from that continent? Is pitti only for gay whites and gay & nerdy chinamen?
