Politically Correct has Become Dangerous

I was told we shouldn't call random groups of men and women "guys". Certainly not "dudes". The Italians are going to have the same if not more problems since ragazzi is used to refer to a group of familiar acquaintances.

So you could play Jordan Peterson.

So you could play Jordan Peterson.

I don't know why he gets such a bad reputation on this forum. A lot of people making judgments from afar when I'm the only one who went to see him in person only because my ex lady friend was interested in all of this self help introspection improve your life rubbish. Plus he's from my alma mater.

A talk by Jordan B. Peterson, clinical psychologist and professor in U of T’s Department of Psychology

“'You have to let life be life. I’m sorry, I don’t think there is a minority or majority in the country that has to be catered to like that.'

Dreyfuss’ comments continued with a defense of Laurence Olivier’s performance in the 1965 feature 'Othello,' in which the English actor played the Shakespeare lead in blackface.

'He played a Black man brilliantly. Am I being told that I will never have a chance to play a Black man? Is someone else being told that if they’re not Jewish, they shouldn’t play [in] ‘The Merchant of Venice’? Are we crazy?' Dreyfuss stated. 'This is so patronizing. It’s so thoughtless and treating people like children.'"

Not only should your race match but your religion too. Except for minorities, they're allowed to play white roles.

“'I think we’re cowards. Republicans send their children schools hoping and praying that their children will come back Republicans and Democrats send their children to school urgently praying that their children come back Democrats,' Dreyfuss said. 'The idea that a parent would walk into a public school and say, ‘I don’t want my children exposed to opposing views.’ That’s wrong.”

Group sheep think is fundamentally important for a stable society.

"At the home of Sarah Fields, a conservative activist and mum-of-three from Texas, some of America's biggest brands are no longer welcome. She cut out Disney first, turned off by children's shows featuring gay couples. Her boycotts of Olay skin products and beers from Bud Light-maker Anheuser-Busch began more recently, after she learned they had worked with transgender social media star Dylan Mulvaney."

A Texas woman who looks like that? When did she have these said 3 kids?

She started when she was 13

The liberal left is crying not everyone is accepting their values, beliefs and outlook in life.

"Some people wanted it ground to dust and thrown away. Others said no, it needs to be in a museum because it's a piece of art. Others still said it needs to be in a museum because it's a part of racist history that needs to be shown. I don't like it artistically. But, you know, it can't be denied that he was a great sculptor."

Cancel culture continues.

What other monuments to enemy combatants are in Arlington?

"Some of the issues raised surrounded standards that include instruction on 'how slaves developed skills which, in some instances, could be applied for their personal benefit'....."

Like Sally Hemings

"...and lessons that touch on acts of violence perpetrated 'against and by' African Americans."

Black Panthers?

Controversy 1: "The critics were out in force before that, though, following Disney's announcement in 2021 that the Latina star had landed the title role."

Snow White became Latina.

Controversy 2: "We absolutely wrote a Snow White that is not gonna be saved by the prince."

The prince won't kiss her so she wakes up. A gender fluid polyamorous friend with benefits does it?

Controversy 3: "They seem to feature only one person with dwarfism, which has divided the community. Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage previously said he found the idea of the remake featuring seven dwarfs as 'backwards'."

There are too many dwarfs? It's not pro-dwarf?

Sounds like the whole movie should be scrapped because animal rights might be in question. Wild life shouldn't be tamed and obedient to princesses in the middle of the woods.

"'It hasn’t always been this way. Before the 12th century, there is no evidence of Jews being depicted with large noses,' it states, asserting that the caricature of Jewish people 'goes back to antisemitic and Nazi propaganda from the 1930s and since then has gone on to become a common trope and, whether intentionally or not—pushes antisemitic stereotypes to this day.'"

So when I play Bin Laden in the next movie, should I wear a fake beard if I can't grow one like him?

European football executives...a haven for tone deaf misogynists.

Spanish football federation president Luis Rubiales has apologised for kissing Jenni Hermoso on the lips after Spain won the Women's World Cup.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino says women should ‘pick the right battles’ to ‘convince us, men, what we have to do’ in fight for equality

“'I say to all the women – and you know I have four daughters, so I have a few at home – I say to all the women that you have the power to change,' said Infantino. “Pick the right battles, pick the right fights. You have the power to change.

'You have the power to convince us, men, what we have to do and what we don’t have to do. You do it, just do it. With me, with FIFA, you will find open doors. Just push the doors, they are open."

"Sandbach Tinne's enslaved Africans were worked to death on their plantations and accounted for in the financial accounts amongst livestock and when they died, their perceived asset value was written off under the 'negro account'. This process of dehumanisation of African people, by Sandbach Tinne and other slave traders lives on to this very day."

"Ms Sandbach questions the accuracy of elements of Mr Al Nasir's research, including the claim that the Sandbach family made all their wealth from slavery.
She also stated that she no longer lived on land connected to the Sandbach Family estate.

In the emails, she describes slavery as abhorrent but also appears to suggest there were similarities between the treatment of African slaves and the treatment of Victorian housewives."

I have a great great great great great........................great grandfather who was a prodigious caveman. I apologise 7432 generations later that he came upon some other bloke's cave and clubbed him to death in order to take over his shelter. I hereby swear I will never take anyone else's cave in the year 2023. Nor will I bludgeon anyone to death just because I need a roof over my head. I won't repeat the sins of the past.

"Some Dalit (formerly untouchables) activists have dismissed those claims, saying they have experienced discrimination from people of a privileged caste.
In 2020, the technology company Cisco was sued by the state after two high-caste Indian managers allegedly discriminated against a Dalit engineer, paying him a lower salary."

I came to naturally accept this when you employ Indians. This is coming from someone who went through Singahlese and Tamils going at each other at work, Hindu and Muslim Indians, Punjabi and Gujurati. I knew one who kept bragging he was part of the brahmin caste every time he got the opportunity to introduce himself and explain his surname.

This U.S. town is considering a ban on all public art

"There's a town in the northern United States now considering a most unusual idea: Banning art. Specifically, banning any kind of artwork, in any public space.

If this were to happen, it would mean an end to art exhibits in public parks. The local theatre company is also in limbo."

Why not ban all written and verbal speech? Then no one can say anything and no one will be offended...forever

"Birds that will be renamed include Wilson's warbler and Wilson's snipe, both named after 19th Century naturalist Alexander Wilson.

In 2020, the American Ornithological Society (AOS) renamed a bird named after a Confederate Army general, John P McCown, as the thick-billed longspur."

Cancel culture affects animals too. Sweet dear animals.

People in the comments are asking for women and ethnic diversity to be represented amongst Eataly’s management. Do we need a token Asian?

"The show faced a backlash in January when it was revealed that no women were shortlisted for the best artist prize, which replaced the gendered best male and female categories two years ago."

"A new award for best R&B act will also be created for the 2024 ceremony.

Previously, R&B artists were forced to compete in a combined best pop/R&B category - which was predictably dominated by mainstream stars like Harry Styles and Dua Lipa."

.....you could also just make better music no?

Should we stop publishing weights on the Olympics website?

I'm short. I'd rather my height not be published either.
Yeah, that is silly stuff. Sure, the abuse and ill-treatment shouldn't be tolerated but gymnastics is not for the fainthearted and strict weigh-ins are de rigeur

"Several first-year high school students, aged 11 and 12, said they were offended by the work by 17th-Century Italian painter Giuseppe Cesari, Sophie Venetitay from the Snes-FSU teachers union told AFP.

'Some students averted their gaze, felt offended, said they were shocked,' Ms Venetitay said, adding that 'some also alleged the teacher made racist comments' during a class discussion."

The horror, the horror. Those nude chunky white women are offending my incel sensibilities.
