Protests Across The Globe

Without reading the article, I suggest all 3.

By the way, your input is required here:

Turns out it was all 3 - with the end result one big grift and con.

But as a vehicle for absolution for rich corporations and white folk, it was well worth it.

Zero impact on you personally, but loads of kudos, and meanwhile places like Chicago, it's business as usual. Who gives a fuck. Certainly not Black Lives Matter.

Looks like BLM protests have successfully reduced the number of people (all races) killed by police:

Coming in fast now, they're not the last to fall...

How is occupying the presidential mansion going to help with their shortages? I'm sure the ruling class are happy to cash out and let the proletariat try to sort out the mess and realise they have no clue how to govern the God forsaken place.

The president just fled the country.

The president just fled the country.

You mean this one?

"Sri Lanka's president says he has asked Russia's Vladimir Putin to help his cash-strapped nation import fuel, as it faces its worst economic crisis since independence from Britain in 1948."

I'm sure the one bloke enjoying the presidential shower right now has Putin on speed dial and can figure out how to wire funds with Sri Lanka's dwindling foreign reserves.

Quoting Marxists is a new one for you,
Pimpy. Trying to get onto Rambo’s good side, are we?
It's the libertarian pundit side of Brendan that makes sense. Like many middle class so called Marxists, it's just a fashion statement. He wouldn't actually dig it and he would have no use after the useful idiots had served their purpose.

As usual, you don’t known what the fuck you’re talking about. You just claim random shit that supports your latest narrative:

Once a Trotskyist, O'Neill was formerly a member of the Revolutionary Communist Party and wrote for the party's journal Living Marxism. O'Neill self identifies as a Marxist libertarian.

We can all do a Wiki search thanks. Like Christopher Hitchens who was also a Trotskyist at one time, I like Brendan O'Neill's musing and he has much to say allegedly coming from the left. I have posted several of his articles from Spiked and from other contributors to Spiked, if you care to glance over my postings. I read Spiked daily, along with Unherd and other sources.

I'm consistent, I didn't randomly stumble onto that article.

I don't know if I've become a subconscious troll now, because I seem to be extremely good at pissing you off and those other two off. Oh dear. Not really.

I know you consume spiked like a monkey on coke - that’s hardly the point, which you miss or ignore as usual.
You quote a self proclaimed troskyist/marxist and member or the communist party, but then claim “he wouldn’t actually like it”. That, sir, is bs of your own making, to justify quoting someone whose political leaning you wouldn’t want to get caught dead supporting

He's also a self-declared libertarian which is completely incompatible with the Communist Manifesto. If you cared to look, you will find ''former'' in front of some of your assertions of membership.

Marxist Libertarianism or Libertarian Marxism is not really a combination of “the best of”, Pimpy. It’s a way of saying “I like the idea of redistribution of wealth, but hate the fascist approach to it”. A Libertarian Marxist that “renounces Marxism” is not really a Libertarian all of a sudden. I’m sure you can appreciate this concept.

In practice? You mean revolutionary Spain? Rojava? Chiapas?
Not what we’d consider “liberitarianism” here in the states. Marxist libertarian where the libertarian = liberty from oppression in a basic sense does not equate to “I don’t have to pay taxes” or “age of consent laws shouldn’t exist”.

Gotcha. Yeh, anarcho-capitalists are whack.

Left-libertarianism has proven a lot more viable, at least in the short term and during periods of wartime national unity.

Gen Z: How young people are changing activism

"McKenzie-Jackson’s experience of starting a life in activism at a young age – and going all in – is an increasingly common story among Gen Zers. Born between 1995 and 2010, this generation have already found themselves up against immense challenges as they make their way into adulthood: climate change, inequality and social unrest, political division, economic distress and more. It’s already mobilised many of these young people into action. And although they are far from the first generation who’ve spoken up about injustice and other societal ills, technology has meant Gen Z’s activism looks different than the movements of the past – which means their influence may be, too."

Isn't every new generation always facing the same challenges?

"He knew cutting out meat and animal products wasn’t enough on its own, so at 15, McKenzie-Jackson amped up his activism efforts. He joined XR Youth, the UK-based independent wing of Extinction Rebellion, and since 2019, has been organising and participating in climate strikes with the UK Student Climate Network and the international movement Fridays for the Future. Now 18, McKenzie-Jackson has taken a one-year sabbatical from his schooling, after which he’ll move to New York City to study sociology and fine art."

A fine young man waiting to enter the working world...

"Hundreds of them stopped paying their mortgages - a radical step for China, where dissent is not tolerated. A young couple who moved to Zhengzhou in central China told the BBC that after receiving the down payment last year, the developer withdrew from the project and construction stalled."

How do mortgages work there? Down payment goes to the developer - yes. Mortgage is with your mortgage company on the estimated value of the property built by the developer. Isn't that two different companies?

"No Covid test, we want to eat. No restrictions, we want freedom. No lies, we want dignity. No Cultural Revolution, we want reform. No leaders, we want votes. By not being slaves, we can be citizens."

"go on strike at school and work, remove dictator and national traitor Xi Jinping".

I guess someone isn't getting their party membership.

This isn't Iran. This isn't Russia. This is China.

The slogan woman, life, freedom came from Kurdistan. This was how my Persian friend referred to Kurds who are spread across Turkey, Syria, Iraq and Iran.

Thought Dropbear would appreciate it as the Kurdish part of Iran are protesting the most.

"The cases before the Supreme Court, brought by the group Students for Fair Admissions, Inc., accuse the schools of discriminating against Asian Americans,
putting them at a disadvantage and valuing Black and Latino students more highly."

That's because you're not good at playing the victim card, shaming your oppressors, and broadcasting it through social media. Who martyrs for the orientals in the US?

"Mahmood Amiry-Moghaddam, director of Norway-based Iran Human Rights, tweeted that executions of protesters would start to take place daily unless Iranian authorities faced 'rapid practical consequences internationally'

So far, at least 475 protesters have been killed and 18,240 have been detained, according to the Human Rights Activists' News Agency (HRANA). It has also reported the deaths of 61 security personnel."

Executions will stop when protests stop?
