Recreating a David Evans pattern - tie to be made by Patrizio Cappelli

Ok guys, now that we have been successful in destroying one of Italy's finest tie manufacturers, it's time to launch our latest project
:ahahahaha:
You may have seen that the downfall of Passaggio started when Gianni tried to pass of a brown/orange grenadine that was woven in 2012 as an extinct vintage fabric even dating it back to 1943 (wartime Italy).
To prove Gianni was bullshitting T4 and I contacted the weaver and organized three special runs which were made up by Patrizio Cappelli.
This whole thing got us talking to Patrizio Cappelli and he liked the idea of giving us access to his archives and recreating seasonal patterns, provided we get the numbers to meet the minimums.
For summer (I agree it's a bit late but we are no pro's) we picked a david evens fabric with floral neat. The original was printed on a hopsack woven silk

We contacted Adamley (the owners of the David Evans archives) and Patrizio Cappelli sent a small cutting of the fabric to them.
They informed us that the ties can be remade using the same screens
in the same colours. However, the hopsack fabric is no longer available
(unless a minimum of 100 meters is ordered), but Adamley suggested their panama weave as a good alternative.

It has a nice crisp hand and would also be a good base for the print.
The Adamley design team prepared some colourways and informed us
the minimum was 6mt per colour.
We are posting this here, on Styleforum and on the Dutch forum to see
if there is sufficient interest in recreating this design.
The ties will be made by Patrizio Cappelli as per the usual pricing
on his site. Also his standard shipping policy applies. If you want to do it in a one piece 7 fold (LOLOLOLOL) it can also be done.
Option 1
Is the exact same colour as the original according to Adamley it just looks different since it is a rendering and not printed. Option 2 is the inverse colours

Pricing:

Standard Cappelli pricing policy applies.

That means prices start at EUR 80 for standard 3 fold construction. Hand rolled edges, extra folds or length in excess of 155cm are extra:

Hand rolled edges is +€20
5 fold is +€20
6 or 7 fold is +€40
155-164 is +€20
165-174 is +€30
175-184 is +€40

My default is 3 fold with hand rolled edges. I know Zhirinovsky is even cheaper and gets standard 3 fold most of the time.

You can specify amount lining. Best to discuss that with Patrizio as it is dependent on personal preference, the type of fabric and the number of folds.

Shipping is EUR 25 and is waived if you order 5 ties or more at once.

Has anyone gotten in on this yet? If so, what's the response been? Most popular options?

I had to MS Paint this bitch, but assuredly the fabric will look better.

Of course the infamous brown/orange would be better yet.

Grand Potentate Grand Potentate totally missed this! I will liaise with Cappelli directly upon his return from his holidays. This is an absolute stunning colorway. I would call it dandy elegant and fit only for a very important look. Zhirinovsky you're in for how many?

Charlie's suggestion was white petals with an orange center. Personally, an off-white would be preferable for me as any white in a tie makes me think it requires a white shirt.

If you get 10-12 guys to order a 3 fold or 5 fold, or 8 for a 7 fold I'll get in touch with Cappelli and Adamley :iseewhatyoudidthere:

Oh, if we're doing roll call, I'm a tentative yes.
oh, for the lazy American...
That means prices start at EUR 80 (~$107 USD) for standard 3 fold construction. Hand rolled edges, extra folds or length in excess of 155cm (61") are extra:

Hand rolled edges is +€20 (~$27 USD)
5 fold is +€20 (~$27 USD)
6 or 7 fold is +€40 (~$54 USD)
[tall people, do your own conversions]
Shipping is EUR 25 (~$33 USD) and is waived if you order 5 ties or more at once.

Well are we really finalized on the color scheme? If everyone else prefers purple and orange, I'll bow out and let the greater many get what they want...

I got a tie with colorway 3 I just gave to Goodwill I think.

Nah, I'm all good. Look forward to seeing the results though.

Purple? Where did that come from?
my ass.
If we're locking it down to Charlie's color scheme, I'm in. But if we need to change the colors to get the minimum order, I'm not agreeing to whatever that may be just yet.

Okay, here's the crummy temporary look

I think it is up to DW to get to the minimum order number. ConchitaWurst ConchitaWurst , am I right that this olive ground is in addition to the colourways you've already advertised here, SF and Dutch SF. This won't be offered as an option to those folks?

I like the olive ground with a non-vivid (burnt orange) and cream.

Hey Charlie it would be nice to get a green bespoke tie without flaws, no?

Yes Thruth Thruth you are right.

The order for colorways 1, 3 and 4 has already been placed. And Adamley will deliver the tie silk in October.

If there is sufficient interest in a a special DW colorway I'm happy to discuss the possibilities with Cappelli when he returns from his holiday at the beginning if September.

It means we would need to get at least 6 meters subscribed. Which roughly equates to 12 3-fold ties, or something like 8 7-fokd ties.

I have to discuss what's possible colorwise, whether an additional colour can be added and when Adamley could do the run.

I will keep an eye on this thread and make up the balance by the end of this month.

Does that sound like a plan?
