This is one of those things that can be obvious or can be subtle. The basic staring point is dark colors and heavy fabrics for the colder months, and lighter colors and fabrics for the warm seasons.
If only it were that easy.
I'll just start with a list of things on which I'm iffy.
How long into autumn can I pull off a fresco navy blazer?
I have a few shoes in Allen Edmonds chili color, a reddish light/medium brown. Are they totally wrong in winter?
I just bought an ancient madder tie, typical dark reds and greens. Fall and winter only, right?
Similarly, autumnal colored (tan, burgundy, hunter) check on an odd coat of medium weight...at what temperature or length of day does this become wrong?
Corduroy pants can be had in crazy pastel colors. For when are those meant?
Those ribbon belts, are they wrong in winter?
And it only gets nuttier when the actual weather is completely unseasonal...
