Gentlemen,

Around this time, I start to think about the tailoring I will be wearing next summer. And I've decided on another Linen jacket.

I am undecided as to what colour yet, so any suggestions or discussion of alternative materials will be welcome.

Two, one SBPL in H&S Cigar Brown and one DB in Minnis Dark Navy. I have dozens of pairs of Linen trousers.

All these are 100% Irish Linen. I have no Linen blends that I know of.

The H&S Linen is this one:

formby formby , check out some of Caccioppoli's Linen/wool/silk blends. I got into a few books of it a few years ago and haven't looked back for summer weight stuff. The only problem is its super limited, once it's gone it's gone. They do a new run each season.

A lot of that stuffs looks light, I know ideal for summer. The problem is, my tailor is reluctant to work with such light cloth (read won't).

I'd try and heckle him a little. Will he half or quarter line stuff?

I know what colour Tan is..

...its that none of the cloths above, are tan or beige.

I'm looking for suggestions...

...but none of the cloths I posted are tan, or beige. The two you recommended are shades of green.

Agree with the green herringbone, but it looks a bit too structured for summer to me.

The problem I seem to have other than seersucker, I find everything a bit too hot for summer. I must be going wrong on the jacket front in this season.

Linen or blend. And minimal lining.

These Bamboo cloths look interesting:

I'm not sure that the full range is available in the UK as this is the US site...I'll give them a ring to find out...

Anyway, what is the opinion of the forum, which would you pick...?

I've got some bamboo pajamas. It wears well and washes up soft.

You asked your tailor to send you a range of cloths in a certain colour scheme?
The Scabal cloth has an interesting weave pattern, but the colour is meh! Could be nice in a sky blue or something.

Basically.

There is this really interesting one, but for the life of me I can't picture it as a jacket.

I had a jacket in a bamboo cloth similar to the Scabal 852583. It was better at wicking away heat than linen. But I read somewhere that linen is only good in keeping you cool in temperatures above 30 deg C / 86 F? Below this cotton is better.

According to my own subjective ranking tropical/open weave leightweight wool>linen>regular supers wool>cotton>flannel>tweed
