The All-Inclusive Shoe & Boot Thread

Fritzl I remember well from FNB. To me he was a good, knowledgeable and interesting poster on the topic of shoes. He was a Big Grandaddy.
I hope he is just having a laugh and will soon be conversing with Shooey as in the old days.

But should shoes be "soft as butter and fit like a glove"?
He's right when it comes to women. Sammy Ambrose frequently gets approving comments from female colleagues that he is 'smart from head to toe '. Women definitely pay attention to shoes.

Meanwhile, I've done some research on the Brad Pitt endorsed Gucci-Adidas Gazelle's. It appears that the €650 Gucci version, is the same as the €80-€110 standard Adidas version, except for the Gucci branded sole and back heel protector. Somehow, I expected more.

They do pay attention to shoos, but sometimes it is not always good. I was talking to a pretty lady about shoes, and she asked me questions like l was an expert. Then she looked down and her face dropped when she saw my Vass gunboats. It was like...`you like great shoes, and then you go buy something like that, you have no cloo'. I smiled because it demonstrated the difference in the mindset in the pretty young girls and the mindset of males who really know there shoos. Women don't like Vass in my experience, they can't comprehend it. Another lady said, lets get those shoes off (Vass F last) and get you into something better, Zegna xxx derbies with a sharp toe.

Sorry Fritzl, l know it is a sick joke and you probably won't like it, but l am just playing trying to amuse the average bloke with the tired old jokes.

Fritzl used to love jokes as much as he did teaching the world about Project Paprika.
well, than my work is done ..., here. teach/inform, at least it's your mother tongue.

frontiers are clear. Thruth Thruth stumped in with his maronibrater boots, this is too heavy for me. better avoid.

shooey and you have never been unfair, at the end, none of yours understood my path to achieve the knowledge I have. important or not, none of you can take it away, sorry guys.

actually, I don't feel ashamed to live in paradise. cruising a vintage vespa, with the best modifications, you can buy for money. a cylindre, fatto e mano, capiche? alright, it's not rs6 money, it was never the money of philipp k. lohrengel vulgo fipsi with his top top elite escort wife. who is the wealthier?

take care and wash your mouth, it's absolutely necessary, imo. copy that.

well, if getting laid is an ambition, gucci or ferragamo horse-bits would take the lead ..., probably.

on a random note: andré kostolany was one of their most important and influential brand ambassadors. the budapest last didn't fit him, due to his sleekness. they created a bespoke hybrid last based on the peter/p2 last for him. of course, he always talked about his "budapesters" due to their origin and his loyalty to his place of birth. the rest is history. consider his wealth and fortune was closer to howard hughes and/or warren buffett, than some i-gent pleb, though.

Nah, it's our old friend fritzl/walker/Gerd Michael Wermescher. Austrian village idiot who seems to be off his meds again. Looking for an unwashed peasant with a know-it-all attitude on all things shoes, constant anger issues and a penchant for cheap provocation? He's your guy.

The Shinki horsebutt on these Benzein boots looks lovely:

actually, I like the big picture of them, particularly the last shape plus the heel height and size ratio.

which colours does shinki offer?

which colours does shinki offer?

Shinki is a Japanese tannery specializing in some really amazing horse hides in analine, veg and chrome tanned leathers as well as popular pigment died (‘teacore’) hides. They mostly seem to sell to the vintage leather jacket manufacturers. While the range of colours in other leathers is pretty wide, I’ve only ever seen the above brown (Viberg did a limited run) and a black in the horsebutt.

Benzein is a one-man (with some family helping in the front of the shop) operation from Indonesian doing custom, made to order boots. What hides he has available at any one time can vary a lot.

phew, the information flow of shinki is still static and/or pathetic. bummer, their business model is not for shoe hides, unfortunately.

fwiw, I'd rather have shinki than horween. the latter doesn't appeal to me.

You gotta speak Japanese and know a guy.

It’s way nicer, though Horween CXL is great as a practical, water-resistant work or outdoor sports boot.

Hello! My name is Masaichi Hasegawa and I am the Founding Partner and Director of Asia Pacific of Gaziano and Girling Limited.

Since my last trip to Sydney and Melbourne was extremely successful and now that Australia is open, I wanted to visit Sydney and Melbourne to hold trunk shows in late September.

However, I need to know that there is enough interest before booking the trip.

Should you be interested in attending our trunk show, please send me your interest to masaichi@gazianogirling.com. My tentative plan is to hold a trunk show in Sydney on the 16,17,18 of September, and Melbourne on the 20, 21, 22 of September.

Again, my email address is masaichi@gazianogirling.com.

Please send me your interest with which city you are from, your mobile number, and your shoe size.

Yours faithfully,

My Instagram is being flooded with ads for white low top sneakers: Thursday Boot Co, Oliver Cabell and Sans Martin...

Any fans out there?

I’m not into monkey boots at all, but the colour depth on the Shinki leather is just superb:

Also not a fan of overdyes and ‘teacore’ pigment finishes, but these look pretty nice now:

This guy is more of a part-time/hobbiest boot maker who makes some fairly impressive service boots:

Look at how this great shoemaker describes himself,Shooey.

"Representing the epitome of the cobbling craft, our Bespoke creations remain a creative opportunity to design your dream shoe. "
He doesn't seem to know what 'cobbling' means.

Or perhaps Sammy Ambrose doesn't. I had always thought the term was restricted to repair. Merriam Webster, however, includes 'making'.

But setting that aside, how do we know this guy is any good. Can we believe him and Crompers?

He sure makes a nice shoo, but can he fit people? By looking at the pictures l suspect he is very good.

What do you guys use to clean your shoes and sneakers?

I clean my kids’ sneakers with something called ‘Reshoevenator’. I found it on sale on Amazon last year and bought both the handy wipes and the cleaning solution. It does the job nicely.

For my shoes, I brush them and maybe use a wet cloth if they are really dirty. Never needed a cleaner before polishing and generally try to avoid stuff like saddle soap if I don’t need it.

I have been wearing my Court Lites tennis sneakers quite often. I have cleaned them today just with a magic eraser sponge. I have also bought Woly creme essentielle but haven't used it. I need to polish some black Oxfords. I will probably get some Saphir creams.
