The Forthcoming War With North Korea

Clearly the message to dial back the rhetoric has not reached all ends of the White House.

"'I will tell you this, if North Korea does anything in terms of even thinking about attack of anybody that we love or we represent, or our allies or us, they can be very, very nervous,' Trump warned, adding 'they should be because things will happen to them like they never thought possible.' Trump said the North Korean regime, currently headed by Kim Jong Un, has 'been pushing the world around for a long time.' 'North Korea better get their act together or they are going to be in trouble like few nations have ever been in trouble,' he said."

"'I'm not like the other administration that would say we're going into Mosul in four months. I don't talk about it.'"

I think Kim Jung Un (KJU) wanted something he can leverage with. He wants to continue to enjoy the benefits that come with his power. I doubt that he wants to bomb South Korea and or Japan 'cus he'll be gone real quickly.

If he goes an fires a missile at or near Guam then I say it's going to be over for him. I don't think the US is going to respond with useless UN sanctions once he does that. If he wants something to bargain with, he may have that with the ICBMs but if wants war then he is delusional in thinking that he can win. Of course South Korea will be in ruins and will have to rebuild yet again.

North Korea: "We consider the U.S. no more than a lump which we can beat to a jelly any time," Pyongyang said in its statement.

President Trump: "Military solutions are now fully in place, locked and loaded, should North Korea act unwisely," Trump tweeted Friday morning. "Hopefully Kim Jong Un will find another path!"

I'm just waiting for someone to tweet, "We must pre-emptively strike. God wills it against the communist heathens."

The question is whether this is the usual Kabuki theatre tactics of the North Korean state before we or the Chinese lavish them with more dole money to carry on in their usual dysfunctional way, or has KJU gone full meltdown loco insane in the membrane? If it's the latter the US have to take him out before he gets nuclear weapons with ICBM capabilities.

An attack on Guam, Japan, or South Korea (beyond the usual salvos) should be met with nothing less than the total destruction of KJU's regime in the shortest possible time frame i.e. hours rather than a ground war.

The Guam attack plan is in Kim Jong Un's hands. He is deliberating.

He's not going to attack Guam - if anything he will pop off a few missiles in the general direction which will land harmlessly at sea but provoke USA.

Tillerson had it right a few months ago: ignore him.

Shame we didn't stick with it. KJU wants attention and has 0 interest in a war. Lots of interest in a game of chicken. Because he wants attention.

I read on the weekend that some minister in South Korea said they should consider nuclear armament. Last I saw on 60 Minutes, artillery shells, not missiles, can go from North Korea and hit Seoul.

Given that distance what in God's name do you need nuclear arms for? If both sides press a button the entire peninsula becomes irradiated.

Shells: tens of thousands dead in Seoul the first day

Nuke (singular): millions of dead in Seoul in the first minute

But KJU is after world status, not destructive power.

The land border is less than an hour drive from Seoul, and for the last 20mins NK is right across the river as well. It's shockingly close. Pyongyang is much further from the border than Seoul though, so while Seoul is at risk from NK artillery, Pyongyang isn't at risk from SK artillery.

It is a matter of style. KJU does CM & SWD better than Trump. That is what is killing DJT.

From what I've heard and read, South Korea had a nuclear program back in the '70s but all of their nuclear scientists got whacked by none other than the CIA agents. So ROK is not only behind in the know-how to build a nuke but it also lacks the resources (Uranium and Plutonium). Japan on the other hand, has everything ready on deck to produce if necessary. Let's not forget if ROK invests and gets nuke, where are they going to drop it? If they drop it on Pyongyang, Seoul will be affected by the nuclear aftermath. It just doesn't make sense.

You don't get jowls and chubby cheeks like that unless you're on steroids and heavy doses of Nivea moisturizing cream, combined with the terrible affliction of not being able to grow a beard and it's a recipe for thermo-nuclear war just to prove he's a real alpha male just like his old grandpa.

Nivea is pretty good, my second choice after Clinique's anti-aging one. No perfume gives them both the edge against the competition.

I think they're fattening him up so he can feed his people in the ultimate act of foie gras sacrifice.

Then he can live on in each and everyone of his subjects.

Pickled with some beer, I reckon he'd go down a treat, an updated socialist parable to the seven loafs and fishes.

Isn't this thread about nations being on the brink of nuclear war? How did it pivot over to me?

God knows what the lot of you would be doing on the eve of the Cuban missile crisis.

We'd be checking to see what you are drinking.

Why are the Aussies contemplating suicide? Listen to the eternal leader stop supporting the President and maintaining the special relationship.

The Guardian is a fake news outfit drip fed on a billion bound trust fund they've manage to blow, their biggest market now is the BBC and other public entities in the UK that purchase their entire printed out put on dole money from the British tax payer. And yet, when it comes to war, they're the biggest shillers out there.

Watch them closely when there is a whiff of war in the Middle East or with Russia, they step in line and salute to the marching drum. A very intriguing outfit.

They also ran editorials naming en masse the 9, 11 and 13 year old victims of the Pakistani grooming gangs and white slavers as ''Slags''. As bad as The Sun is considered in Liverpool, so too The Guardian should be consider equally reviled throughout the decent thinking and civilized world.

It needs to die and quickly and as soon as the trust money runs out, which promises to be sooner rather than later.

so. Other than that it's your favourite news source?

Difficult to say now, the legacy media is pretty much all tainted by click bait tactics and spinning a controlled globalist narrative. When I was in the UK I was surprised to find that many of my family are also ditching the MSM in favour of citizen journalists and pundits on YouTube. Interesting that there was some overlap.

For commentary and opinions, it's pretty much YouTube for me. The usual suspects: Styxxenhammer666, et al. The Spectator is still excellent.

For actual news facts I tend to cast my net wide from The Daily Mail, Reuters, Order-Order, The Telegraph and other news agencies.

No response from the leader of the free world? I was expecting a tweet that says something like "tempt us and we'll unleash all sorts of bombs - atom bombs, hydrogen bombs, Mother of all bombs, so many bombs you won't know what hit you."

Oh wait that's more than 140 characters

4 September

"'Any threat to the United States or its territories, including Guam or our allies, will be met with a massive military response -- a response both effective and overwhelming,' Mattis said...While he said America does not seek the 'total annihilation' of the North, he added, 'We have many options to do so.'"

9 August

"US Defense Secretary James Mattis issued a dramatic ultimatum to North Korea on Wednesday to 'cease any consideration of actions that would lead to the end of its regime and destruction of its people'"

...the threats become more mild as North Korea becomes more belligerent?

Manton will be fashioning some words as we speak and hoping some parts of Trumps retinue can read

Where's the US trash talk response to this?

Well, China says one thing and does another. Already weeks ago one of the big guns in the Chinese government made clear that China will help North Korea should the US attack first.

However, I wonder whether the attempts to fuel a conflict with the country (and have it invaded) might have other reasons:

https://qz.com/1004330/north-korea-...-wealth-and-its-neighbors-want-a-piece-of-it/

Below the nation’s mostly mountainous surface are vast mineral reserves, including iron, gold, magnesite, zinc, copper, limestone, molybdenum, graphite, and more—all told about 200 kinds of minerals. Also present are large amounts of rare earth metals, which factories in nearby countries need to make smartphones and other high-tech products.

Estimates as to the value of the nation’s mineral resources have varied greatly over the years, made difficult by secrecy and lack of access. North Korea itself has made what are likely exaggerated claims about them. According to one estimate from a South Korean state-owned mining company, they’re worth over $6 trillion. Another from a South Korean research institute puts the amount closer to $10 trillion.

Given the massive push towards electrical cars in the West (and China as well) the value of such resources will only go up.

President Trump's latest tweet after flying some B1 bombers and F15 escorts as provocation: "Just heard Foreign Minister of North Korea speak at U.N. If he echoes thoughts of Little Rocket Man, they won't be around much longer!"

I'm calling it now. The next round of insults will be comparing dick sizes like he did with Rubio.
