After finishing, IMO, the best week of golf, The Masters, we need our golf thread in here.

Yesterday's Masters finish was great. I didn't know for who to root for, I like "El Pato" for being latin-american, but in the other hand I like a lot the playing style of Adam, both would have been great champions.

I love golf.

Finally had the chance to play at least one round again, I miss to play a lot. I fought all the round, some poor shots here and there, but hitting the range once a week have helped a lot. Shot +1.

Damn. 1 over for early in the year is pretty damn good. I'm lucky to shoot in the 80s these days. I just get out nearly as much as I did in the past. Consistency is always my problem. I never seem to string together 2 solid 9s.

I used to play a lot when I was in college... 2 years ago. My intention was to try to become professional but here in Mexico is really really hard, you have no idea. Plus I was ending my carrer so getting a scholarship to go to play in the States was not an option. :okay-95:

I haven't touched clubs since October. How I managed to screw up a half swing 7 iron with my feet together I have no idea. But hey the woods are improving quite a bit probably because they're easier to get started. I never really keep track of score. I can never put together a complete game. I think for the most part it's mental.

I only watch now for Tiger Woods. Infidelity and all, I think it's remarkable the consistency he has had throughout his entire career. Is Vijay Singh still around?

It was matter of time that Tiger get back to his game, although I still think he is not at his best. Vijay it's still around he had a nice tourney a couple of weeks ago.

Went to the range yesterday... I try to practice as much as I can so I don't get rusty. Plus I just love to swing the club, helps me a lot with my mind. But sometimes I hear some stories at the range that made me laugh very hard.

So yesterday I was waiting for a spot to practice, since the range was full. And this dad arrives with his sons and start talking to one of the guys that helps you to clean your clubs and that stuff (something like a caddie). And he tells this guy "We are going to try this driver that my son bought yesterday. He's crazy he hits the ball so hard." When I listen to this, almost inmmediately I know it's a high handicapper. Then one of the pro's ask him what his handicap is and guess what the answer was? "I don't have one. I don't play that often and when I play my short game it's the problem"...

Just what I expected. When I saw him swing the club... disaster... he goes way to fast in his backswing and we all know what happens when you put all your speed on your backswing... no speed at the downswing, not solid contact, no balance, no "lag"... and he spread the ball all over the place. But he was teaching his little brother and his dad. :areyoukiddingme-87:

Sometimes I wonder if people really know that hitting it solid/flush it's what this game is about.

LOL. Gotta love driving range heros. I was next to a bro trying to impress his girlfriend last year swinging like Paul Bunyan swung an axe. He toed one and almost clipped a guy 4 stalls down.

Those are definitely the worst... the ones that try to impress girls, cause usually their are bad.

I love to hit the range, it's something about swinging the club that really puts my mind somewhere else. Sometimes I get criticezed... well not criticiezed, don't know how to explain, but for example a few days ago the pro from the range ask me if he can gave me some advice, because my wall was starting to the right. I listened to them, and just as I suspected, it was against what I believe and how I hit the ball. I was in the first stall, I really didn't pay attention to where I was aiming, after he told me the "advices" I look up where I was aiming and I was aiming to the center of the range, so my ball was starting inline with the target.

My swing is ugly, but does the work, so I don't care haha. Now that I remember there have been a few times that I have found people recording me with their cellphones as I swing... it's funny. :LOLguy-88:

I almost never hit my driver more than 5 times at the range. I always found myself hulking up because it is just the range. It would just mess me up.

Sometimes that happens to me, when the range is full, the adrenaline pumps up.

Nice!

I was trying to fin some videos that were on Facebook, when I was playing everyday, but I think the guy that have them, have deleted them.

Tiger won his 4th event of this season. The Players Championship.

Recap:

I couldn't watch the final round, I was on my way to Mexico City, but I really think his mind is what causes him to choke. His mindset is "I don't have the game to win".

Stupid shot. He wasn't even close. Should've played it safe. He wanted to beat Tiger flat out, which I don't blame him, but you don't do that on that hole

Exactly, plus he knew that shot! In 08 when he beat Paul Goydos he hit that shot, middle of the green with a pull-fade and let the ball slide to the pin.

If you don't like golf... you should start watching just because of Blair O'Neal. :fapfap-41:

Hahah. What about Anthony Kim

Poor guy... he has been completely vanished from the tour. You don't hear about him anymore. I feel that Anthony lost ground with a couple of wins, then the injury came and the mindset changed.

Taking Leischman and Day in my fantasy golf pool for this weeks tourney.

Jason Day has a very smooth swing. I like it a lot, looks very calm, but the downswing is agressive as fuaaark. A lot would say "looks like a robot" but they wish they can swing like that the club.

45 for first round of the year is not bad at all.

I'm glad that Bae won, Keegan, I have nothing personal with him or something like that, but I don't like the guy.

First round of Jack Nicklaus' tournament.

My pick is always Rory McIlroy... but what the fuck is he doing? He has been playing very poor this season that I think that if he wins one event he could say it was a good season.

Tiger, with the way he's playing and being the defending champion... I think he has a lot of chances.

And bdeuce22 called it right, Kooch won the Memorial Tournament, it was a fantastic tourney, fun to watch. I hope you put down some money to Kuchar on winning, bdeuce!

Well at least you got something... I trusted on Tiger or Rory.

I'm eager to see how Merion is set up for the US Open.

Played 9 holes today.. As was to be expected, solid long game (although i was pull drawing it at times, no problems with the driver whatsoever) but couldn't chip or put if my life depended on it. Wasn't that interested either, which has been the same for the last 6 years. 41 from the tips.

The friend I played with was good company, which is what matters to me.

41 isn't that bad if you don't play every single day, plus golf is about enjoying a good walk with friends and you did that. Nice!

It isn't that bad, I used to play scratch however. Between how I used to play, and having taught golf for a few years, I lost interest to the tune that I now play only 4 or 5 rounds a year. Lame I know, I would love to get that 'drive' to play back...

So we are kinda in the same boat haha, but I never taught golf seriously, only to the ones that asked me for some advice or something like that, but never charged them anything. I used to play a -2 here in Mexico (+2 USGA), I played every day but then I finished school, have to come back home and well stop playing golf because in the City golf courses are ridiculous expensive plus some familiar problems make it impossible. So far this year I've only play 2 rounds. :(

Tiger, Rory and Adam paired together for the first and second round of the US Open. Would be a nice group to watch... if the three play well.

Nice win by Harris Englush. Fisrt PGA Tour win.

In other news... this new commercial from Nike Golf... pure awesomeness!

I suck at predictin who is going to win haha. But so far it's been very tough for this guys this golf course.

Merion showing his teeth to the best players in the world.

So far, I think this US Open is different, cause they are shooting some irons as their tee shots in some holes and still they can't post very low numbers. I think that this is prove that longer courses are not needed. A small course can give the worst nightmares to any player.

Justin Rose won the US Open Championship.

IMO one of the best US Open's I've ever seen. Jason Day played very nice, Phil falls short again, but he missed some shots that are not for his level.

Had a chance to play on saturday. Started pretty decent, par, birdie... then OB hahaha in a short par 4, 303 yards, hit the 3rd shot and left the ball pin high just a touch off the green. But ended with a 6. Then another 6 at the 4th to end with a front nine of +3. Then the tempo and everything returned and finished with a back nine of Even. Really liked that it's my first round after 2 or 3 months.. I don't even remember. I miss playing more often.

Real happy that Mickelson won the Open Championship. Nobody wager on him on the Sportsbook.

Jason Dufner gave an amazing lesson on ball striking. Really impressed on how he strikes the ball.

PGA Championship was nice.
