The Gun News Thread

So funds for school security are in this, as well as funds to encourage states to either get "red flag" laws or fund intervention systems like specialized court divisions and diversion programs such as mental health and drug courts.

Juvenile offenses will now be added to NICS, as well as domestic violence offenses against a partner or ex partner that one does not live with or no longer does (critics referred to it as the "boyfriend loophole"). However, instead of being a lifetime ban, misdemeanor domestic violence offenses can have ban lifted after 5 years, if offender applies for it, and has not committed additional crimes in that time.

I know it's not a fashionable opinion, but I have often thought that demonic possession was as good an explanation as any for these mass shootings--so diabolical and out of the human norm do they seem!

Sounds like either a drug deal gone wrong, or the Dutch directness to the point of rudeness, being interpreted as something else.

"'Everything's f--king ridiculous there. I'm fed up with people getting killed every day. God knows how many people have been shot in school shootings. And there was that mass shooting in Vegas at that concert… It's fucking crazy,'"

Now he only needs to worry about getting knifed by young kids.

As Joe Strummer once noted, the killers over there work 7 days a week:

Ozzy stayed a long time, many go over to come back. David Niven may have been the first. Michael Caine went over when he was 45 and came back a couple of years later concluding that's too old an age to reinvent yourself in a new town. The Human League stayed until the money ran out and are now back happily in Sheffield.

Back in the 80s and even mid-90s, I viewed getting out to the States and L.A. as the ultimate get out clause from Blighty. And an associate of mine did, works in the film music business. Never thought he had the talent, but there you go.

As a lot of the well traveled expats will tell you, after all the sun, sea, sand and endless blue sky days, you start to miss the seasons.

Good Lord! Over a million bucks for a Broomhandle that was tarted up into a hokey cinematic prop! Well, never having had vast sums of money to blow on things, it's hard for me to comprehend what some people will spend vast sums of money for. As a matter of interest, I believe it's illegal to own (or maybe it's just to buy or sell) a Broomhandle here in the People's Republic of California because, among the many cockamamie anti-gun laws here, semi-automatic pistols with magazines located ahead of the trigger guard are proscribed by law.

Dropbear Dropbear this was ALL over the news.

There is absolutely no competency, vision, intelligence or safety testing prior to using a public range. At best, the people who are a danger to others might get identified and pulled off the line by the range safety officer after they’ve done some scary stuff- but the quality of RSOs seems to vary widely.
