THE Necktie Thread, Now With Handkerchiefs and Scarves

I think we could need a thread about usual, almost indispensable accessoires in menswear like ties, scarves, pocket squares and handkerchiefs.

Here some of my scarves, from Joshua Ellis and Johnstons of Elgin:

I bought a box of handkerchiefs to go all retro, but I haven't found any damsel's in distress to use them

Yes, thanks, I hadn't spotted it.
Hey, that's what I'm here for.

It's definitely been a defunct thread unfortunately. I love a good tie. I just picked up a couple F Marino ties that I'm super happy with. Marinella will always be my top top man though

Sarto´s tie master maiden was the master tiemaker of Marinella for decades, for real.

Lumpen Lumpen should post some of the bespoke ties made by his friend Sartodinapoli. He has nice tissues and many hand passes. Hand rolled edges and penors too.

I'm considering the purchase of some classy, simple pocket squares, as my wardrobe is very deficient in this regard.

Here some fine items from Simonnot_Godard:

Buy from Sarto instead, pm for contact, also tons of shirt fabrics, he will invite me to a coffee for shilling:

but do not pm in that awful post, since he won´t ever log in again even he was voted as best tie maker.

Very nice ties, I don't like printed fabrics, but the other ones are stunning. So they are from him, you don't produce any?

No, I am not Sarto, only his official shill. ( How do you guys enter the copyright icon?)

You might like jaquard, strangely most people don´t like it, and is lovely to see the back with the intrincated threads

My most recent purchases in terms of neckties.

Marinella in cashmere, 150cm x 8,5cm:

I like colours and materials, but they are definitely too narrow for my taste, even though far from some ridiculously slim item seen in these days.

My ideal width is 9,5/10cm.

Simonnot Godard are purveyors of fine polyester blends....

Petrol? No one in Naples uses petrol derivates, well yes, a few bad tiemakers that use polyamide interlining instead of expensive wool and cotton ones.

Google Simonnot Godard and polyester. It was a well kept secret for years.

Well, it seems that at Simonnot Godard they were reticent and misleading in their statements and explications. In my opinion any highly reputed producer should avoid the use of synthetic fibres (except for socks) in their cloths. Not completely sure about it, but I think to have even seen a coat from Attolini with some Nylon in it.

Took a punt on a Cappelli tie today. I need ties at 160cm long and use Shibumi and Vanda as a rule. Didn't really get grabbed by any on their sites and Drakes charge way to much for my shallow pockets for a MTO. So thought I'd give Cappelli a go for a change. Good selection on offer, price was ok as well. Standard 3 fold, hand rolled and with the extra length came in at 130 euro. Post a bit hefty at 25 euros though.

Anyone here tried them?

3 fold for 130? Sarto does 3 fold for 65, 7 fold for 85 and are done a couple of streets ahead from Crapelli.

Does he have a website you can link me to please?

No website. He will send pics of tissues and options via email.

Some happy customers

Sorry to post from that unforum

I really envy the man's ability to sew those corners and lines as nicely as he does. I have to give that to Sarto, corners are a stubborn part of me tbh.
