Bernie Got Bought Out? Is Bernie getting another lake-front cottage from Biden? What happened to his war against the establishment? /s

No, he's just living the Politburo lifestyle: a couple of 5 years plans before lunch, sin and caviar for the rest of the day, throw-in a bit of stern grandstanding and bollocks and your in.

What kind of mad shit is this:

Nothing surprises me. Plausible half-wits it's the name of the game.

How does this square with Labour's obsession with gender equality?

...it'll be intersting to see the mental gymnastics.

Identity politics and intersectionality is about to be jettisoned. It was after all, only a strategy to gain power.

Let's hope he can purge the party of the toxic legacy of Corbyn and Momentum. Good luck to him!

now that the labour party is officially an arm of the tory party you're happy, yes?

Labour has been out of power for a decade. They need someone who caters to a different brand of voters.

I am happy that the anti-Semite magic grandpa is history, yes.

In the crisis, a government close to national unity is what is needed. And I hope that is what the Brit's get. Of course you will still have the proverbial spanner's in the work like the SNP.

Labour has been out of power for a decade. They need someone who caters to a different brand of voters.

Exactly. Less ideology, more competency.

“So many poll workers quit that Milwaukee consolidated its 180 polling places down to just five locations -- and in those locations, voters stretched around multiple blocks. Staffing at polling places looks different: Nearly 300 of the state's National Guard troops will be replacing volunteers who quit.”

That’s smart. Consolidate the polling stations so more people congregate into fewer not more places.

By the time of the first debate the US electorate will decide whether a 74 or 77 year old should lead their country into the 3rd decade of the 21st century.

My crazy old racist serial sex offender is better than your crazy old racist sex offender.

Same failed 19th century dream of utopia, turned 20th century horror, now being regurgitated and re-branded for new gullible fools and the next generation of useful idiots and gulag prisoners. No thanks! Bye, bye Corbyn and Sanders.

Semantics. Same wolf under different sheep skin.

Are you really equating countries like the Scandinavian societies and (to some extent) Australia, with a totalitarian, centrally-controlled society and economy such as the USSR under Stalin or China under Mao, and with a form of anarchism?

The three things are very different.

It's frankly ridiculous to suggest otherwise and someone as intelligent and well-educated as yourself should know better.

Scandinavian societies aren't really socialist societies in terms of government control of the market/economy; in many ways, they are freer than the US.

Adding democratic to the word socialism does not really change the real practice of socialism, it is rather simple. Practically communism is just political wing of a socialist society.

Sorry, Pauly, but in order to have a mutually intelligible discussion, we need to agree on terms.

If we can't agree on the political definitions of democratic socialism, socialism and communism - terms that have been used in political/government discussions for decades, by the way - then we can't have a discussion.

Edited to add: As with everything, there are degrees. There are degrees of capitalism, too. No country that I can think of has a "pure capitalist" economy. Well, perhaps somewhere like Somalia where there is essentially no rule of law and no government - it's basically anarcho-capitalism.

True commie at heart, always bows down to big money and power.
sanders isn't a communist. he's a democrat through and through.

The issue is whether Sanders supporters will vote for Biden in the general election or whether they disappear from the polls.
i dont think they will. his "concessions" have been laughably weak so far.
So much for democratic socialism.
the democratic party is doing its best to stamp out the movement.

I would have more respect if he were a true democrat. I heard the same spill from Mao/Deng/Hu as I was growing up and read enough Lenin and Stalin to know see through Sanders, let's not kid ourselves.

well this heel turn and endorsement of biden proves he's a democrat through and through. which really really sucks.

He has demonstrated twice now who he really is; an old dirty politician who really only cares about money and power.
