'Mafia style.'

One of you shills and tells noble lies...knowing it is a lie...not a good look, ever.

Another is a big fat stout guy who could never wear a polo in polite society, but insists on posting individuals of lesser or similar build, as examples of what...himself?

The final member of the dynamic trio, is tweedy chap with boots up in the land of snows.

No wonder you're all pissed-off and looking for someone to blame.
AD HOMINEM, AD HOMINEM!! ololololololololololololo. No wonder you get into dustups on the street with rando delivery men.

Chimps, the stout chap you refer to has the balls to post his gear while wearing it. We never see much from you other than static kopping pics. He even posts his casual kit and I'll give him props for doing it even if I might not dig all of it. He actually knows denim instead of just reading it off of the Levis tags. It's ok to be normcore or Barry Manilow MOR, dadcore. It's ok to dig mall fashion. The stout chap fits in well with those of us that DressWell.

I am interested in who the shill-liar is. Such intrigue, tell us more, because it doesn't fit the one you are directing it at. Fill in the gaps. Ta.

It's troo, I never had much use for shoos. Never said I didn't have any though. I have more shoos than boots. We won't count the outdoor/work/casual boots. Moved many of them along as chelseas, pull-ons and chukkas are all I want from now on for casual wear. No shoos with denim. Trooth be told, I now wear shoos more than boots. Tweedy yes, since I only posted in winter and the shoulder seasons but it is a shame you lump all my fabrics, patterns and solids into tweed. Not much tweed in the spring/summer wardrobe. Much more lightweight and bloo. But I stopped posting koppage and daily outfits a while ago now. Yoo'll have too take my word for it. I can talk hand lasted with the stout chap and a couple of others too but not yoo.

You don't need to explain yourself to me. It's not an inventory in a self help group.

But I would recommend less gratuitous use of ''ololololololololololololo'' it gets a bit tedious on the eye after awhile.

I do get it, you don't dig me, but instead of ignoring me, like the other two, you've put a target on back. And that grates a little. It means you care enough to try and do me over. Also you're a bully like the other two.

Hence my message to you remains: I'll stay just as long as you want me to go.

One always has to explain because you do nothing but cherry pick and move the goalposts.

A bully? A grown man calling another man a bully on the internet? How sad.

Target? Oh my. Help, Help, he is being e-threatened!

Get over yourself. I ignore everything else you post so I guess I can ignore you when you drop into clothing-related threads too.

Done deal.

Perfect - and the absolute antithesis of the Dadcore polo, Oakleys and jeans/jorts/cargo pants look.

As for the latter, there is nothing wrong with wearing your New Balances or flip flops and staying comfy as the Grey Man sometimes. Polo shirt and neat jeans is the minimum standard for most government offices on Casual Friday in the US. Pre-pandemic, I’d wear off-white jeans and a plain polo most summer Fridays .

This. We are are discussing polo shirts in this thread.

Stop being so thin skinned. You are not a victim. Everyone else in this thread is discussing polo shirts and where they fit in the world of menswear. You are the one having a little hissy fit because no one agrees with you.

Hence my message to you remains: I'll stay just as long as you want me to go.

Eh, you’ll probably stay until you get banned for being a tone deaf cunt is my guess.

These online beefs are absolutely boring as fuck.

Get back to discussing clothes or just fuck off. Everyone.
Dude, practice what you preach. You lurk, you shit up a thread, and then disappear. Sometimes you say something about clothes.

my Top Five:

1. Sunspel Riviera. Best style, feel and drape. Way overpriced, but there are good deals out there.
2. Kent Wang. Great slim cut and a rakish cutaway collar. Maybe be a bit short on taller guys. Material is nice, but thick and wears warm. Massive MoP buttons.
3. Spier and McKay. Bargain copy of Kent Wang. Material is softer and a bit thinner. These hold color nicely, however they are prone to shrink and sizing is inconsistent year to year. Either buy your normal size and hand wash or size up and throw them in the machine.
4. Fred Perry. The M12 is still made in England. Soft, slim and lasts forever. Too many fascist associations now but a lovely shirt. Avoid black with yellow twin tips like the plague.
5. Mack Weldon Vesper. Sunspel knock-off that uses a cotton-poly mix. It is almost indistinguishable from the Sunspel and retails at half the prices. However, you can still find the above four on sale at around the same mark, so I wouldn’t bother with this one.

Saw this posted in the RSS feed subfora. I don’t think I’d want any of these.

I have around 10 Sunspel polo's and 2 Psycho Bunny polo's. The PB's are not bad, I don't even mind the logo anymore lol. I also have a few S&M's.

The branding logo would be a deal breaker for me.

I’m wearing a grey Sunspel right now, actually.

It’s been 4-5 years since I’ve bought a Spier polo, and they have definitely improved them. The material is a little thinner and a lot softer than Kent Wang, but the fit is very similar. The collar has a nice cutaway but there is a plastic stiffener seen in there which may look bad after a few washes. I still rank Sunspel at the top, but I’m now thinking two Spiers are better than one KW. Caveat: have not washed yet, so shrinkage may alter this opinion!

That's one hell of a collar mate
Hopefully it will settle down after a wash! Still wish I could remove the little plastic stiffeners - I see them shifting around and breaking after a few wears/washes. Good value, great quality polo - but I’ll wait until a few washes before giving it a four star rating. Sunspel still reigns supreme though.

Another antipodean brand doing a Tom Ford knock-off that I’m cautiously optimistic about. Not for everyone- the sleeves are short and the fit is slim. Price was about $60 with shipping from NZ and the material and cut is excellent. Withholding final judgement until it goes into the wash though.

A few months ago I picked up a couple of Mack Weldon ‘Vesper’ polos on sale. It’s a straight-up copy of the Sunspel Riviera, as the name suggests - but in a cheaper, blended fabric which put me off. But after several wears, I’m impressed with the fit and the softness. If you can find one on sale for around the $50 mark then I’d say they are a good buy and a better value proposition than their competitors.

how would you compare them to the Spier and McKay's you like so much?
Better.

S&M copy Kent Wang, so thick cotton, nice cutaway collar but fuller cut with longer sleeves. A bit warm in super hot weather and better for a dad bod. On sale, $25 can’t go wrong.

Mack Weldon copies Sunspel (with a cheaper, blended fabric to mimic the light breeziness of the original). Even though it’s not pure cotton, it wears light and breathable. I like the slim fit with very short sleeves, but it’s more of a bodybuilder fit that many wouldn’t like. On sale at $50 it’s a good deal, but getting closer to Sunspel eBay deals.

Update: I still like these, but they aren’t without their flaws: far too short and the open V never lays flat the way it should. I could probably get around both these issues by sizing up, but I really like the slim fit.

Good news is that Royale are about to make their own version. Hopefully the sizing works better for me.

Updating today that I bout this a few months ago. The fabric has a nice dry, crunchiness to it. It’s not a summer weight, but it’s also not too heavy. The deep Johnny collar is perfect. The body length is still on the shorter side, but a definite improvement on the other version I had.

It’s a nice addition to the rotation of navy polos that account for 80% of my daily wardrobe, but doesn’t replace the staples (Sunspel and Weldon).

Any good recommendations for long sleeve polos? I’ve never owned one, but I’m thinking they could be good for layering while traveling. I like the knit cuff on the Sunspels and not the button cuffs on Kent Wang.
