Can Polo's be a wardrobe staple from luxury brands? I think so...

Fedeli in Giza 45 and John Smedley in Sea Island Cotton and Merino

They give these away, it was £29.00 plus £5.00 DHL. You could add your own MOP's at this price.
Yes, it's affordable. ;)

Nevertheless a brand builds its image and prestige on these details.

I picked up a Sunspel sea island polo on a whim the other day. It's almost too soft

My other brands include Alan Paine, Psycho Bunny, Kilgour, S&M, Glenmuir, and Lands End Supima.

I have paper thin Sunspel T-shirts (not the Riviera which has thicker cloth) immaculate from more than 10 years ago. Like 300 washes they should have or so. Very good stuff. Remember paying 40 euros for them back in the days.

that's incredible. the dogshit they sell now barely last a year.

What do you guys think about Kent Wang‘s polos?

I tried a couple on when Kent himself was in London and I was passing through and I like them. Didn't buy any though .

These ribbed collars , like those above, do nothing for me. In fact, I loathe them.
My preference for polos either has to be fully fashioned/ camp collars or has to have some interest. Ribbed collars are just meh! Even if they have very nice fabric composition.

I got a couple of Kent’s polos many years ago. They definitely aren’t very fitted, but at least the sleeves aren’t long and baggy like fat American golfer shirts. The length was good and the material thick and reasonably soft.

I bought an OCBD shirt from him for my wedding rehearsal dinner - back when all he sold were three colors of the same shirt, from a cardboard box in the spare room of his student house on East Austin.

Arrived today, somewhat wrinkled after a long wait of two weeks (thanks to Brexit), Johnstons of Elgin superfine merino long-sleeved polo jumpers.

Very nice, supple material, accurate finishing. I had preferred a wider collar.

I spotted these ones on styleforum: very fond of those broad collars.

I have the same green colour in a Marks and Spencer with a standard collar that is still in good order.

More interesting to me is the background. I tried watching ‘Trailer Park Boys’ but did not get on with it. I was surprised these parks were quite a thing in fairly remote Canadian states like Nova Scotia. I thought land would be cheap and therefore housing too. He does not look like any of the cast. His spectacles would need bottle glass lenses to get close. I have probably misinterpreted the background too.
