The Style of Donald Trump

He's not the most stylish man around, but he's got the money to spend and he's in the public eye.
Back when I would catch his Apprentice show it was always obvious that his suits were way too big, and those pastel shiny ties he likes hung too low. I think I've heard Brioni and Attolini mentioned for him, but I'd need to check on that.

Brioni for sure. Suits, shirts & ties, although he has said he wears Hermes ties too.

He's not the greatest dresser. But his style in his balls, not his clothes. If balls were style, he'd be Humphrey Bogart.

Hopefully he'll be the next Prez. I doubt it will do any good in the end, but at least the historians will be able to see that there were some Americans who gave a shit about the destruction of their country.

Please never, ever again mention Trump in the same breath as Bogart.

The half slap will do maximum spinal damages

A lengthy interview that reaches the depths of the man's sartorial ponderings.
Do you dress to impress?
I always wear a suit--looking one's best is good for confidence. High self-esteem is important for effective performance. Dressing well is also a sign of respect, for yourself and for others.
Do you think about what you wear every day?
Not too much, as I know what I'll wear every day, which is a suit. It saves time, and I know I'll look appropriate. I have too much to think about to devote a lot of time to it.
Would you trust a man who wears jeans to a meeting?
That would depend on what he had to say, how well he said it, and what he had to offer. He might have to impress me a bit more, which is okay, too. I wouldn't base my decision on his jeans.

At one point, I believe, Trump said he wore Brioni exclusively. Somebody on SF quipped that Brioni should pay him to say he wore Kiton, so ill fitting were his suits. Trump also derided bespoke tailoring as a waste of time and stated that he always bought his suits OTR, which may explain some things.

Power and style – Donald Trump | Elyts
He is always seen in a well-tailored[sic] dark suit and bold ties. The ties are the ones who make the statement on what is on the agenda that day.
Not afraid of color, Donald Trump has no problem calling attention.
If you watch closely you will notice that he prefers ties with no pattern and with a silky finish. The colors are always the same: either blue, pink or red shades. [never mind that yellow one in my avatar]

It is said that many of his suits are tailor-made in China...

Donald apparently wears Artioli shoos and is rumoured to buy 25 pairs (bespoke or rtw?) each year. Somehow l get skeptical because Trump's shoos don't look like Artioli. Besides, l get the vibe that these people are big on promotion and telling tall tales like the Harrold's man that said the Sultun of Bruni bought 1,000 pairs of Artioli bespoke each year and only wore them for 4 hours before burning them at $3,000 a piece.

Oh yeah, here is some of Dolanld's shoos. They look expensive actually.

Pity they don't have photographers who specialise on taking pictures of shoes on famous and wealthy people's feet.

I thought Donald would have been better in Alden double soled clunkers because of his weight, but it actually does look like he is wearing Artioli in the pics linked above. His shoos look very nice indeed...kinda wish l had `em.

Btw...why would Donald need 25 pairs of Artioli each year?? What does he do with them all? That seems silly and exaggerated.

The Artioli people come across like used car salesmen...they'll tell you anything. They always say they are the best shoos in the world, but l could name 50 brands that are better.

Mr Artioli beleieves in a thin soul to get special vibrations from the Earth.

This claim that he buys bespoke shoes but can't be bothered with bespoke tailoring is so odd to me.
A quick image search also finds him in nothing but solid white shirts with pretty much the same collar, which I actually rather like.

Are these white bucks? Did anyone see this in full resolution?

Excess break on trousers, obviously.

I like Trump's unique style. His shoos are always impeccable and he has wide legged trousers, so big points for that. The other major plus is that he doesn't come across as stylish, he comes across as an ordinary bloke who puts on his clothes and doesn't think anything more about it (doesn't try hard). Trump likes shoos.

Get a grip man.
He looks fucking dreadful.
Always.
Proof that money can’t buy style or class. As a younger man he seemed to look decent but has long since abandoned any semblance of style. Obviously walking around oblivious to that trained ferret he has perched on his head, he has nobody around him - wife, fashion designer daughter, any number of lickspittle sycophants - with the stones to confront him on this, or else he flatly ignores them cos he really thinks he looks just great.
He could make a vast improvement just by buttoning his friggin jacket.

I think he's gone full dressing for comfort because he doesn't really give that much of a sartorial fig what anyone thinks.

Disagree. The guy is a bundle of narcissism, deep insecurities and wounded ego.

Loads of rich/powerful men don't dress well. They don't care. They don't have people around them telling them that they need to get a custom suit or that their tie is too long.

I DO think that Trump thinks that he looks good when he is dressed in a suit. He probably feels that he doesn't need to impress anyone.

This.
He obviously has some kind of dysmorphia where he thinks he looks fantastic, the best ever, better than any other president, especially the last one, believe me.
I’m sure he believes the boxy oversized suits, long ties, floppy trousers etc are doing a great job of mitigating his obesity, the same way his ridiculous elaborate combover mitigates his baldness.
He’s wrong.

sorry. there is NOTHING about his style that is good. He makes Brioni look with Jos A. Bank.

But this takes the cake

He is not a narcissist, not in the pathological sense, not on the DSM scales. I do believe he has something to prove and is on a mission. He is a business Democrat after all, gone rogue into Dirty Harry territory. He's like a John Ford Western hero: tough, possibly uncouth, rubbing up against polite society but ultimately moral and has it not gone unnoticed that he has the build and swagger of John Wayne?

That seems like a very apt characterization to me. It puzzles me that he elicits far more hysterical antipathy than Bush II, who was far more deserving of opprobrium...at least in my book!
