A Futile and Stupid Gesture: The History of the Trump Presidency & Q-Anon

Its not so much that there where riots happening everywhere (obviously there weren't) it was the way the media (mis)reported it . In Britain, in some quarters, you'd have thought that the US was on the verge of a Civil War!

Oh, here too. Such insanity.

Unfortunately, both our countries have a thoroughly disreputable, irresponsible, sensationalist grifter media. And it isn't helping things.

We do, but at the same time people watch it. At the end of the day it's our own collective fault. I am and will always be a die hard believer in cause and effect. I wouldn't say I'm completely cynical about it, but not optimistic for sure. I guess a wait and see attitude at best.

^^ I understand that even attempting to respond to this is to go down the rabbit hole but nonetheless here I am.

Thus repeated claim of republicans being stopped from observing the vote counting process is false and has been disproved but it seems to be spreading like wildfire. There have been republicans, members from Team Trump observing from close distance, ditto team Biden. But alas, this canard seems to be spreading...

If there are indeed cases of voter fraud, that should be exposed, investigated and dealt with but so far it is all smoke and mirrors but people keep believing this BS when a little investigative effort finds this to be false.

There's lots of videos of allegedly bona fide Republican Observers advising of probable false ballots and being denied access.

For transparency and legitimacy sake, if I was Biden, I would welcome recounts and auditing where there were legitimate grounds for concern of ballot rigging in the districts effected. That will seal the deal and make sure the 69 million rancid, mob of unworthy deplorables have to suck it up. And them damn Cubans too, they ain't no latinos!

It should be done objectively and pretty quick. Within days.

Whilst Trump may or not have been rejected at the ballot box, the biggest losers, if the Democrats don't take the Senate, is Pelosi and Biden himself. The radical agenda has been thoroughly defeated. And Biden's going to be sitting around, well past his prime with the radicals snapping at his heels and the Republicans plotting an impeachment based on his Big Man dealings.

At this stage, the GOP likely see the above as a better long term strategy than another term of the divisive Trump. Build on Trumpism without the ego.

Hopefully Trump will exit the stage dignity maintained. His actual speech on the alleged vote rigging is mild and he states implicitly it is for the courts to decide.

Trump has done more than anyone to expose the rancid nature of the MSM and elements of the deep state both sides of the Atlantic. That is enough. Time for a different character going forward.

Ah, well dammit. My meter obviously needs calibration tonight.
its ok. the election has broken many a lib's brain.

i'm surprised you haven't been laughing your ass off at nate silver's complete collapse into reputational disrepair on twitter.

They can start with Manton.
I see they're getting ready to go after Trump supporters and staffers with some vengeance:

They shall be erased from history in true Soviet style.

“I’d actually like to go back to the old times of Tudor England. I’d put their heads on pikes, right, I’d put them at the two corners of the White House as a warning to federal bureaucrats, you either get with the programme or you’re gone.”

Actually no. I realize the average American is functionally illiterate when it comes to probability, but 538 is going to end up being very close with the outcome and close to the center of probability range. I think their most common EC count was low 300 Biden, and its going to be 306. G. Elliot Morris at the Economist too.

The polls are going to be off about 3 or 4 percent most likely, and the average miss in presidential years is 3% roughly, so nothing too out of whack nationally. The states polls however varied from dead on in Georgia to hot garbage in Wisconsin.

I posted some of the analysis in the other thread I think, but as usual the immediate media narrative and our populaces inability to consume information we got some idiot runaway narrative

It's not over yet. There have been some recounts, and some court rulings are being waited on. If the rulings go Trump's way he will win, if the rulings go Biden's way he will win.

He's been deserted by the GOP and he needs to weigh up if the contested ballots would sway the election? If not, not worth bothering at this stage and would only come across as bitter and Trump playing to type.

Most of the world is functionally illiterate when it comes to probability. Try explain Bayes theorem to them.

There's some hot-parochialism going on right here: This has got fuck-all to do with the US election, its fireworks being set off for Bonfire Night (Guy Fawkes night), which is on the 5th Nov but often celebrated on the nearest weekend). Bonfire night is where we acknowledge the death of the only person ever to enter the Houses of Parliament with honourable intentions.

the activist judges are those that support the progressive agendas

What do you call the ones that support radical conservative agendas?

Identity politics = mob mentality. Faceless people, the individual no longer counts. It is often a form of socialism, but it is also far right thinking. When things become faceless, morality is easily lost, and this is the aim of the spector....to break up society so mobs fight mobs, and as a result the authoritarians come in and make more rules to control the mobs.

Yes, achieving this level of authoritarianism was the entire goal of Donald Trump's presidency.

I note that neither Russia nor China have jumped the gun to congratulate the President Elect.

They are often criticised but in this case they are doing things properly and waiting for a final official declaration.

Correct.

Russia and China play it by the book and await the final official announcement.
