The War In Syria

Can’t wait to see you worm an explanation out of this one.

Not sure this means what you think it means. Golan Heights has been part of Israel since 1981. This is not part of the buffer zone.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office announced on 15 December that his government unanimously approved a plan to encourage demographic growth in the occupied Syrian Golan Heights and Katzrin settlements.

"Strengthening the Golan is strengthening the State of Israel, and it is especially important at this time. We will continue to hold onto it, make it flourish, and settle it," Netanyahu stated.

I believe what he is trying to say is: Golan was the illegal "buffer zone" from 196x until it was illegally integrated in 81, to now create a new illegal "buffer zone" which will be illegally annexed at a later point in time.

"Assad's reported statement was put on the Telegram channel belonging to the Syrian presidency on Monday, although it is not clear who currently controls it - or whether he wrote it. In it he says that, as the Syrian capital fell to rebels, he went to a Russian military base in Latakia province 'to oversee combat operations' only to see that Syrian troops had abandoned positions."

"Hmeimim airbase had also come under 'intensified attack by drone strikes' and the Russians had decided to airlift him to Moscow, he says.

In the statement - published both in Arabic and English - the former Syrian leader reportedly describes what happened on 8 December - and how he was apparently besieged at the Russian base. 'With no viable means of leaving the base, Moscow requested that the base's command arrange an immediate evacuation to Russia on the evening of Sunday 8th December,' the statement reads. 'This took place a day after the fall of Damascus, following the collapse of the final military positions and the resulting paralysis of all remaining state institutions.'"

Still doesn't explain the Reuters report your wife and kids were already in Russia waiting for you.

Well, I guess we'll have to wait and see, won't we? I don't need to "worm out" of anything, as he suggests. Whether the UN (and that's a body that's gaining credibility by the minute) recognises it or not, Golan Heights has been under Israeli administration for 40+ years. The Druze that live there seem to be pretty happy to live under Israeli law, and unlike other Syrian "refugees" in Irak and Lebanon, we haven't seen them rushing to go back to Syria, have we? As a matter of fact I'm sure you've seen the video circulating, that I posted above, where an entire Druze town wants to live under Israeli law.

Quite the opposite than what we hear from the Kurds, who are begging for international help so they are not (continue to) be massacred by Turkey and the Islamist Rebels. But as I said before... No Jews, No News!

Syrian Revolutionary leader Ahmed al-Sharaa:

“We are committed to the 1974 agreement with Israel, and the international community must also ensure Israel's commitment to the agreement.”

We’re still saying the same thing.
This is not the buffer zone. It’s the Golan Heights, part of Israel since 81.

What, you discovered there are a bunch of extreme assholes within the (already extreme) asshole settlement group that believes this is a possibility? Well done.

At some point you will hopefully get the joke that Israel is not one monolithic fascist society, and as in any other pluralist and diverse society, you have unsavoury characters on both ends.

Also, waiting to hear back on your thoughts Turks killing Kurds and all that.

Right and Israel is always innocent.

As thoroughly answered - Israel is not one monolithic society. Not sure innocent of what, and who specifically, you’re trying to refer to. I invite you to visit Israel to figure this out for yourself, instead of through tiktok/reddit/etc.

And moreover, I ask you - what’s your take on Turkey imminently invading Syria to wipe out the Kurds?

Again its this dissembling with you. "Oh this guy isn't important." "The society isn't monolithic." Why isn't this other issue just as bad?

Its always some bullshit. Honestly, I'd be shocked if you weren't in the Israeli PR Telegram channel getting talking points from them directly at this point.

That's horrible as well but what the fuck does that have to do with the Israeli settler threat, and state-backed intention, to effectively work on annexing a part of what is now Syria?

That where things stand today, and maybe eventually you prove me wrong, the “settler threat” of annexation of the buffer zone is absolute bs, while the turkish army and the turkey-backed militia attacking and killing Kurds in the North is real and happening as we speak.

You’re joking
Not too much. I am aware that approx. 98.72% of all UN security council resolutions miraculously deal with Israel and that for whatever reason Israel is of significant interest to the legacy media (almost exclusively positive), but I am also aware that Israel is and always has been one of the worst war criminals. Both things can be true at the same time. I personally have no real interest in the issue, as the saying goes "riff-raff fights, riff-raff gets along". In my opinion both sides are uncultured brutes and that's exactly how they behave.

gotcha. thanks for your participation.

They’re literally publishing this shit in the Associated Press now as a way to foam the runway for what’s eventually going to happen.

Isn't Turkey in NATO and on the docket to get into the EU? Or do we just call anyone who is against us from a developed nation "The West"?

First headline: Syrian government forces battle and kill hundreds of Assad regime loyalists
Second headline: Syrian government forces kill hundreds of Alawite civilians
