So Andrew Yang is picking up a lot of steam on 4chan. He’s displacing Trump’s support there for three reasons:

a) He is even more anti-establishment than Trump
b) He has a futurist bent to him
c) Yang Gang memes are fun and viral while Trump memes have become old hat. The potential for lulz is important for this group.

Examples of yanggang memes (there are also counter-memes; I may have spent an hour over coffee on pol).

There is also a strong anti-Semitic undercurrent to Yang’s support from this specific subculture.

And then there is some infighting between Trumpmemers and Yangmemers, with the yanggang basically pointing out that Trump isn’t any fun to meme anymore and therefore they shouldn’t meme or troll for him in 2020 and should back Yang.

I was under the impression, that sabotage for lulz, is the sole purpose of teh chan?

Your impression is correct, and some of the criticism of the Trumpers on 4chan is that they’ve forgotten this.
