We're Turning The Planet's To Shit: Climate Change & Humanity's Ability To Ruin Anything Good

Would that be ''Climate envoy John Kerry...'' the one who travels around in his own private jet?

Would that be the same China that is the world's biggest polluter and who's skies in the big cities are white with choking pollution?

All the oil & gas majors are well onboard with being carbon neutral over the next decades. ExxonMobil is about to make their commitment, others are already there, Shell, Total.

did you read the article in full? lets find out:

Would that be ''Climate envoy John Kerry...'' the one who travels around in his own private jet?
survey says: the only time john kerry is mentioned at all in the article is this single sentence proving that he wants to continue to keep things the way they are.
Climate envoy John Kerry has balked at the idea of committing the U.S. to a coal phaseout.

Would that be the same China that is the world's biggest polluter and who's skies in the big cities are white with choking pollution?
survey says: the only time china is mentioned at all is this one missive on their impressive rollout of EV buses and transport and used to compare it to how utterly worthless our claims are:
Let’s compare, for example, where the U.S. is to where China is on that front. The U.S. currently has 1,650 electric and fuel cell buses currently or “soon to be” in use. Since 2015, China has rolled out 421,000 electric buses via generous industrial policy that paid automaker BYD the equivalent of $150,000 for every $300,000 electric bus it churned out. That was paired with procurement policies that created a built-in market for what were then still clunky e-buses, forcing manufacturers to work out the kinks as they scaled production to meet demand from the public sector. Shenzhen alone now has 16,000 electric buses, along with some 12,000 E.V. taxis.

All the oil & gas majors are well onboard with being carbon neutral over the next decades. ExxonMobil is about to make their commitment, others are already there, Shell, Total.
yes that exxon who has been so truthful about their objectives and goals in the past. lest you forget this information i posted previously

the idea that an oil and gas company is going to be able to change its ways is patently ridiculous and makes you seem silly when you tout it.

They're best placed with the infrastructure, design and engineering capabilities to deliver on the hydrogen technologies. And you won't get to zero carbon without the use of hydrogen and the other unfashionable one, nuclear power.

great news coming out of canada
Smoke was crazy here today from fires in northern Saskatchewan. The fires in BC are insane. So thick in Vernon that it looks like dusk. Fire came within 50 feet of our house. Evacuated. The homes in the area were saved by the homeowners as we fought the fire when BC fire would not. Few hot spots left but it's burning it's way up the mountain now.

this is from Monte Lake but it is exactly what BC fire did in our area too. Avoided it. No water bombers. They quit work at 5pm. If they were there. We ran their pumps and pumped from the pond at the end of the road. Only one home was lost.

jesus christ. i was wondering what had happened to you. i figured you'd be lounging on a beach somewhere not becoming a volunteer firefighter! i can't believe the fire service left you guys. why isn't this some sort of national scandal?

The town fire chief basically told us he did not give a shit about our places and they could all burn. That is what insurance is for. Vacation cottages, golf courses and the race track with the Mclarens of the beautiful people were more important. It was fine for him as long as we were evacuated and safe. One of the neighbours is a retired fire chief so he took charge. we had one water truck, km’s of hose and pumps plus chain saws, picks, shovels and the like. 40C temps. They brought in Mexicans who know shit about firefighting. They just carried piss cans to douse hot spots. It’s all about $$ and people getting paid. Sweet jumpsuits though. The wildfire industry. Loggers had Cats ready to cut fire lines and BC fire denied them. Some joined our crew though. Fucking surreal. You could hear wildlife screaming caught up in the flames. Wild horses and the Indian cattle running past you. In retrospect, seeing no one died and all but one place was saved it was kind of a blast. Reminded me of the times years ago when government actually could press you into service to firefight. Where’s Thruth? Helicopter took him to the fire line.

Why wouldn't they let you cut fire lines? It's crazy this let's not manage the land and waterways and just let nature run wild. You can't do that where people live.

This has happened time and time again this fire season. On one hand they want everyone out of the fire zone to let the professional firefighters and structural protection people to do their work. Then they do nothing. Our fire started on the Indian reserve 0.1 hectares. Cigarette on an old mattress. Right. It grew to 20,000 hectares. No water bombers, no choppers. It is 14 km from our place to the reserve.

Seems like the statistics could be at fault here
Certainly here in the Netherlands, despite the pink on the map, the temperature has been below average. This has been a repeat of the 2011 summer with added wind and rain. Temperatures between 17-24 at a push. Temperature yesterday was 16C.

Record temperatures in some places, and some places average or below average. Much of France had a lousy summer too.

ok great lets just invalidate all the things happening before our eyes. you hear that Thruth Thruth we understand that your entire town is actually on fire but its been a bit windier in the far east of Canada so clearly nothing's wrong.

yep, these random climate cycles happening earlier in the year, getting more frequent, lasting longer and being more intense is just fine. Nothing to see here. Move along.

One of the problems in the Netherlands is that the end-user clients are also responsible in law i.e. the people who use the products of the fossil fuel companies.
