Why Are You Pissed Off Today?

Are you receiving any treatment?

My aunt was a doctor at the time and prescribed vitamin b12 injections to my mother. My mum was a nurse so she ended up injecting herself.

Significantly better, thanks. Still in some intermittent pain and can't do much physical activity besides walks but getting better everyday.

Those look like nice Brutalist structures. Not sure some of my ex-coworkers from Wien agree about living there being affordable.

Why would they think 600€ warm per month isn't affordable?

I don't know. I showed them how it was ranked as one of the most liveable cities in recent surveys. Maybe the problem is I had the most interaction with ex pats there (Italians) and they kept moaning every time we talked about food prices, school availability, housing, petrol, gas, etc. I asked him why he wouldn't return to Italy then and enjoy la dolce vita and he said that was done in Italy decades ago. Could also be he just had a kid and nappies are expensive.

I'm just sitting at the park across the street on a bench that random people come join at the other end.

This one (ethnicity and colour withdrawn) bloke and his girl - he seems like he has a collared shirt and trousers on but smells like one of the homeless I had to pass to get away from the stench earlier in the day. I feel sorry for that woman. I am smoking cloves to enhance all of our olfactory senses.

I just sold a juicer/blender I got for free from my brother. He won it in a lottery. Bloody hell it takes me $48 to ship to some post box in timbuktu of my own province. There goes any appreciable profit. Good thing eBay charges sales tax for some weird reason.

Final 25c+ day here for what looks like a very long time.

No more sun dresses, no more sleeveless tops, no more bikini tops, no more floral skirts, no more pencil skirts. No more exposed mid riffs. Very depressing prospects.

Cheers up, you’ll be wearing them again before you know it. And now you can pull out those cute thigh-high boots and fur coats.

It would be really nice if I could breathe the fresh 9c air without sniffling like a coke addict.

My Zippo lighter and me are beginning to really hate this dodgy lighter fluid I bought.

Doctors will be happy as I can't smoke.

I still found one ant today. Why? Why can't they jump into the vinegar bath and commit suicide like the others did on Saturday?

Need new lighter fluid. Need new lighter fluid. Need new lighter fluid. Correction. Need proper lighter fluid.

Since the hot weather died down I developed a breakout of acne. I thought it was maybe just a change of seasons but 2 waves later I'm still breaking out. Sadly my libido hasn't returned to the teenaged levels.

Now my tan (aka skin cancer) is going away so it's becoming more visible.

I have a feeling I am going back to the hospital with my father for a third time…

I made a 5 course Italian Sunday lunch at a relative's house and some f#ck in my family gave my father a walking stick.

My wife finally got Covid after a trip last week. It’s not bad and she got antivirals but I’ve been taking care of her and the kids since the weekend. Sleeping on there sofa. Working from home the last couple of days. It’s been hectic but manageable. But for the last few days I’ve been congested with a sore throat. Every test is negative but I still don’t feel 100%. I’m guessing that, since I’m healthy and well vaccinated, the viral load is so low it’s not detectable on an antigen test. Either that or I picked up a minor cold at exactly the same time, which would be a weird coincidence.

I waited three years to get this damn virus and was looking forward to taking a week off work all by myself in isolation, reading and watch Netflix and being taken care of. Yet here I am sick and taking care of everyone else! And on the Thanks Giving break, too.

FML 🤣

At least you have Paxlovid. I'd have to age into a senior citizen or put on makeup and pretend to be an aboriginal or turn into some other at risk group to get it.

I caught it at a wedding on Friday night last year and Mother's Day was on Sunday. Tested negative and felt okay Saturday and Sunday. Monday night I felt a scratchy throat. Tuesday I had a weird dry cough with scratchy throat and in the afternoon at work it developed into a full blown fever. I finally tested positive on Tuesday night when I got back from the office (strangely no one in that boardroom caught it from me).

Then I went into hotel quarantine to spare the person staying over at my place (who also never caught it) and was positive for 11 more days. My parents caught it a few days after I tested positive. Wedding couple tested positive on the Wednesday PM after I gave them a heads up. 96 hours gestation?

I’ve got nothing because I can’t even test positive. I thought about doing a telehealth visit and lying, but honestly with such mild symptoms I’m not sure it’d help much anyway.

I thought with your role you just walk down the hall from your office and there's a stash next to the first aid kit. Next to the naloxone and AED.

did you guys get the new XBB 1.5 vaccine?

setup a corsi-rosenthal box in the house and in the offending room. get air purifiers running 24-7.

I did, she didn’t: which would explain why she is still pretty sick even after antivirals and I’m doing fine with nothing but whisky and keeping busy. Seriously, I’ve had allergy symptoms worse than this.

She’s on day six and now we are both testing neg on antigen tests, do not too infectious. I’m kinda surprised the kids never got it.

well the new strains are reliably evading the current crop of covid tests even up to a week out, so it might be worth throwing another test at it in a few days just in case. still, filtration will help clear the house and make sure no one else picks it up or gets re-infected.

In the past six weeks I had two colds, one flu shot in between the colds and one coronavirus thing. Why do I have a second cold in six weeks...

Still dying from this cold. I'm doing good work spreading it to everyone at this co-working space.

Some people from the gym were exposed every morning.

Getting very annoyed waking up every morning needing to suction out all the stuff from my respiratory system.

I blew up on my mother over the weekend on who is to prepare Christmas dinner. (she's neither hosting nor preparing anything)

This virtual doctor appointment I booked two weeks ago got cancelled 10 minutes before the appointment. Last night I answered some online form (am I already dying, should you not go to a hospital if it's an emergency) and promptly sat down 10 minutes before to check in on the app only to be booted 5 minutes before start time.

Developing a full blown cold. Lovely.

The silver lining is I was due to purchase a 4 course + cocktail tasting hosted today and I didn't pull the trigger till the ticket sales website shut down.

So the non Coronavirus but still ill with cold and flu were supposed to gather for Christmas dinner and that was a party of three at my place. Now it has grown to five. Literally during the afternoon of Christmas Eve.

Do people think I slaughter, butcher and roast whole animals and every and anyone can just walk in to enjoy festive cheer?

This doctor I saw on Boxing Day was a joke. I told him I tried two antifungal, one antiviral and 2% cortisone always puts it away.

He prescribes a 1% antifungal which I already tried and said it wasn't resolving it completely, a 1% cortisone even when I said long term cortisteroid use can't be a permanent solution.

I did get an antibiotic cream even though no one verified whether this was bacterial.

That’s a terrible doctor
