Oh, try dealing with FEMA. Harvey was 47-48 Days ago and they have inspected our house three times now. We already have some new (to us) appliances, hung about 20 sheets of drywall, had new water pipes done, and they’re still not sure we had water damage.
Yeah, I'm burned out on the whole deal and now regard it as a sham. I can only recommend it if to people who are willing to throw their lives on the scrap heap and watch it all burn. Actually we do have a friend who has made it work, but she is a saint.
I call him Dakota. I use 'boy' because it is shorter and sometimes I don't want to hear, see, or speak his name.
So speaking of - we were in the pool yesterday, he's making an effort to engage (but not actually do anything), so we spoke. He lamented his decisions and squandering his time...

Update: two cars totaled with flood damage, one truck stolen from a parking lot. I have more appliances outside my house than inside, and we've cut out hundreds of feet of drywall. Lower Kitchen cabinets are by the side of the road, as are...
Well yes I guess there's that. Though I'm already planning my next one. But i will have to run more mileage to prepare - this 16-mile long run is a much of baloney.
So an injury derailed the heaviest weeks of training, and then the weather killed any hopes of going low. Finished today in 4:00:39. So, like three years after I started this thread, we have a denouement. I have run a marathon, again.
Thanks, I'm pretty comfortable with it, finally.
