What Are You Wearing Today?

I measure 1.75m and my chest is nearly 120 cms. This is RTW size 54 heavily altered (sides/front dart/sleeves and length). Size 56 would fit on chest but too big on the shoulders as well. The fit on this jacket is quite loose but my chest always 'pop up'

I am the perfect example of barrel chested guy.

Beggars can't be choosers.
 
Do the wider shoulders look too bad on you? I'd rather have shoulders a touch wide than a too narrow chest. But if it looks too linebacker like, it's hard to choose.

Thanks awfully to all those who post pictures of themselves and who don’t get discouraged by the occasional bizarre comments. As to those who make bizarre comments about what others are wearing, but never post pictures of what they are wearing......

Well, I am bulking up a bit and it looks a bit too narrow.

This was part of group order with LA in the other forum. I did a MTM jacket with him before and I thought he was going to send me a jacket with the same measurements. Instead he sent the nearest standard size that was a 54. A 56 requires usually too many 'frankesteinazions ' to make it look good. The main issue is on that size is that armholes are usually too low (Jackets are designed for wider and taller guys) All together they make me look too square

The best rtw jackets for me are from unstructured italians (Boglioli and such) but please dont start like in the other forum with the lapel sizes.

You're right about the armholes. I wear a size 50 (UK) now and the armholes are painfully deep and the jackets way too long unless I am lucky to find a short. Main reason I started thrifting bespoke stuff.

Income reduced for the same job (Spain is so lovely), had to move to a more expensive flat, less expendable income overall. Add weight gain and the need to rebuild a wardrobe from scratch to the mix... if at least I could wear the stuff I previously had, I could limit my purchases to a few custom, better taste items. But since the extra weight needs to go, or at least it should, all of my stuff is temporal... can't really waste tons of money on custom or high end.

Starve yourself completely, problems solved, with the money saved on food and the weight lost, buy some decent clothes.

I already have a lot of decent clothes just waiting for me to fit in them again some day :trollface2:

I was starved at the hospital for nearly a month and barely lost any... problem is complex. I know this place is snarky, and I love you guys for it, but still...

Edit: His tailor died strangely from one or several shots on a highway parade on the mid 90s. I guess he delivered some Madrid unsuit to some with good taste and access to weapons ( maybe was a Sicilian or Neapolitan who felt scammed and offended?)and was shooted instantly. The tailor was called Pajares and his tailoring shop was on the street Eduardo Dato, another former president shooted by the masonry , this is for real as well.

Or maybe the trade charlie for unsuits came bad

I had already lost 130 lbs. back in the SF days. So my metabolism is that of a goldfinch, more or less.

I lost some (not much) while at the hospital, but gained it back quickly. Seems like not eating for a month fucked me up even further.

Drugs are not the answer to weight lost, whilst the scrawny heroin chic and skinny speed freaks are the stereotype, any middle class dude or family man, is going to end up with that bloated uptown junky look as their metabolism stops.

And. I've noticed a disturbing trend - the vamp on your "slip on" shoes is getting higher not lower - is there some problem?
