If you’re like me and wear a t-shirt basically every day, either as a base layer in colder months or as the main top, and you also don’t want to put in the effort to take special care of your tees, wash them separately, etc (I use basement laundry in my building and I’m just not willing to do more than the bare minimum number of loads), hopefully you will find this useful.

Context:
I am 5’9”, ~180lbs, pretty muscular build (gym 6 days/wk, lifting heavy).
I am always looking for tshirts I can beat the shit out of, that don’t shrink or deform too much with fairly careless washing (I know myself), and which are comfortable and I feel like I look good in. I also prefer a heavier weight tee even in warmer months. The tees are reviewed below in order of worst to best (in my opinion!!):

Gustin:
- Size ordered: L (I initially ordered medium, but literally couldn’t get my arms through the sleeves so sized up)
- Fit: terrible; these shirts are made for some species that I do not belong to. They are weirdly small in all the worst places (namely, pit-to-pit and sleeve diameter—my biceps are losing circulation) and weirdly large in all the worst places (overall length is way too long, collar diameter too wide). I guess I shouldn’t be that surprised because everything I’ve ever tried from Gustin has fit really weird
- Construction: seems durable enough, though the seam of the collar really emphasizes the non-tubularness of the construction and you see this really obvious, pointy, non-circular seam where the collar joins itself. Don’t like it.
- Material: the fabric is nice. No complaints.

Bronson Loopwheel Athletic:
- Size ordered: M
- Fit: Good on the first wear, then shrinks like crazy. Pinches me really bad in the arms and chest now.
- Construction: feels like it’s built like a tank. That collar is thick as heck which I kind of like.
- Material: Very heavy, soft from the first wear. Definitely the hardest to wear on a hot day of the lot

Bronson 9oz:
- Size ordered: M
- Fit: Really good actually, and continues to fit even after several washes. Fits quite similar to HoB (see below), but doesn’t hold its shape as well
- Construction: This is the weak point. I’m seeing noticeable warping in the hem after a few washes and it does sort of just feel like the shape is gonna continue deteriorating
- Material: totally fine, nothing to write home about

Gettees:
**(**These are my OGs. I have by far the most experience with them, I’ve worn them for years and owned literally dozens. I really just wanted to see what else was out there so started buying these others, but I’d recommend these to anyone)
Size: M
- Fit: The fit is really solid, I think I just may be getting a little too big for the medium at this point
- Construction: I have beat the shit out of these shirts and they have withstood it admirably. They’re looking a bit flaccid and have stretched out in some unflattering places at this point, but there’s only so much a t-shirt can take
- Material: the softest, supplest, most delicious out-of-the-box feeling fabric. These are like the 4-ply cashmere of T-shirts as far as I’m concerned.

House of Blanks:
(Worth the hype and more. The search was all worth it for these)
- Size: M
- Fit: Love it. Flattering in all the right places for me. tight enough in the arms to hug my biceps nicely, but never uncomfortable. Love the collar diameter on this; feels really timeless.
- Construction: Holy hell, I have washed and tumble dried these like crazy and they keep their shape unbelievably well. Idk how they do this but these guys are built like tanks.
- Material: definitely the crispiest of the bunch out of the box. I don’t actually mind that at all. I like a crispy percale sheet, and I’m fine with a slightly stiffer t-shirt. I expect they’ll continue to soften as well.
