The SF/AAAC/FNB trainwreck thread

An excerpt from the Luxeswap thread on SF - this looks like someone with a severe clothing obsession who accumulated a massive amount of clothing, without wearing much or any of it:

So there's been further discussion in the LuxeSwap thread about the person who is using LuxeSwap to sell some thousands of high-end clothing items.

http://www.styleforum.net/t/307841/luxeswap-official-affiliate-thread/12160_20#post_8375361

Someone asked how the man came to own so much clothing and joked that he must have bought out Saks 5th Avenue. Spoo responds by saying, "Lifelong collector, time to cash out."

Someone else responds to say, "How can someone collect so much?! dats crazy
ffffuuuu.gif
i want that kinda money."

Have we really reached the stage where people now "collect" clothing? I thought that clothing was for wearing, for using, not for collecting!

If this person really was "collecting" clothing, then I must say that it was poor decision on their part as I'm sure that they'll end up with cents in the dollar in return for their collection now that they're "cashing out".

I dont know what he was doing but last week Spoo was selling some of his boglioli jacket news with original tags and some buttons missing. Also the inner white tags inside the breast pockets were wrinkled. (this might be due to Boglioli washing the jacket after is being made?)
how can you grade a brand new jacket with 9.5 out 10? Shouldn't be 10?

^ Rather odd.

I can understand that a button might be pulled off while being shipped or moved around or put on display, but it's hard to understand why the inner-pocket label would look so wrinkled and worn on something that is ostensibly new-with-tags.

I suppose that if it's made out of a washed fabric - that's actually been washed after it's been made into a jacket - that could explain it but otherwise it's very unusual.

An acquaintance of mine collects vintage Fiats. Doesn't even restore them himself. He drives a few.

I know someone else with a collection of brass instruments that may actually be worth more than a million dollars. Don't know if he plays any.

Though neither collects with the intent to cash out.

I have garment dyed/washed jackets with tags look that way. I had my ationist remove the belt loops from my Isaia suit pants and there were small white undyed spots left under them.

Both Boglioli and Isaia jackets are an inch too short for my standards now though smh. My RTW options are VERY slim now, so much so I can't even mention them least till I'm able to acquire some.

Can we talk about the Nasty Pig advertisement on the SF main page right now?

Everyone's seeing that, right?

It's not just being targeted towards me, right?

Please?

Despos may have saved Justikapur from commissioning a fresco odd jacket. Or maybe not as he does not listen to anyone

C'mon, you know very well that SF ads target people's darkest and most disgusting inner thoughts & internet viewing habits.

All I see is Kirby Allison everywhere

"Fresco is a sort of an internet phenomena "

Ha spoken by someone who actually knows something about suits, tailoring and people.

I don't see anything for something called nasty pig. I do see 3 separate AdChoice banner ads, which target your own personal cookies and browsing history, so you're definitely getting some targeting advertising no matter what you do.

But those don't block all the inane asshattery of the forum members.

That's very concerning, especially since I'm on a work computer, that the SF site thinks I'm into somewhat edgy gay culture.

Jesus, you should go work for ISIS. That was pure torture.

I just tried to open up SF to see what's been happening in the Australian Members' thread, and got this message:

suit scientist!!!!!

Speaking of suit scientists, I was at the supermarket with my eight-year-old daughter a few days ago when she suddenly said to me, "Daddy, why do you know so much about how to dress and how people should dress?"

When I asked her what she meant, she said, "Well, friends of yours ask for your opinion on how their clothes look and you can talk to them for ages about where they should buy their clothes or what they should look like."

She paused, and then said, "You know so much about clothes that it's like you're some sort of... suit scientist."
