Can't believe I beat Rambo to the Rockefeller baby owl.

^ I went to get my second dose of Pfizer today and there a balding, paunchy bloke like that in the line ahead of me.

Today we had to have this cute little guy’s eyeball removed 💔

He has an immuno-mediated illness that attacks the eyes. He was already blind on that eye, and he developed an infected ulcer that was painful, and threatening his overall health.

Good news is he’s recovering well and this hopefully will protect the other eye.

Glad to hear he is on the mend

Oh, poor doggo! Hopefully, he recovers soon.

When I was at school, my cat was bitten on the head by a poisonous, red-bellied black snake. He used to go hunting snakes down near the creek near our place, and once brought a live one back into the house near the cat flap and proudly presented it to my parents, who were sitting in the lounge watching TV at the time. Their evening of watching BBC period dramas suddenly became considerably more exciting!

Anyway, one evening the cat wasn't so lucky and he came stumbling home and a large lump developed on his head. Many hundreds of dollars in vet fees later, he survived, but was blind in one eye as a result of the snakebite.

It took him some time to accustom himself to only having one eye and, in particular, his depth perception suffered. He used to sleep on my bed and so he'd come in to my room in the evening and go to jump up onto my bed but, instead of leaping up and forward, he'd jump straight up into the air and back down again, and then look very confused. However, after a few months, he started to adjust and, after a few nights where he didn't quite make it and had to frantically scrabble at the blanket to pull himself up, he was jumping as well as ever.

He learned his lesson about snakes, though, and stuck to mice after that.
