Sometimes I feel like Rambo created this board just to have a bunch of voices shouting common sense at him, so that he can practice denying that the sun shines.

Wait, what? First of all, I didn't even give an opinion on the issue. I posted an Olberman rant and said it was good. Not that I agreed with every single thing he said. Secondly, how does your second sentence even describe what I'm doing???

Because you asked if people were ok with what happened because they didn't back slap you how awesome the Olberman rant was. You turned it into a binary operation. They can think there is nuance to the discussion.

Olberman said the legal officials should resign. You know the ones that did their job to the letter of the law and put him into a diversion program which is a pretty important social program that has shown to help these situations. Whatever rant he went on is null and void because he is talking out of his ass as usual while doing his best to best the left leaning version of Fox News.

For the record, I was NOT asking John Lee Pettimore III John Lee Pettimore III if he was ok with Ray Rice beating his wife. Rather, I was asking if he was ok with the way everything transpired after that fact, including the NFL's position and response, which I was under the distinct impression (since this IS the NFL thread and I seem to be the only person on this forum capable of staying on track in a thread) is what we were discussing.

Here Are The Questions The NFL Should Answer


Earlier today, as part of our ongoing reporting of the Ray Rice story, we sent a list of questions to an NFL official. Some of them were raised by the league's investigation of Rice, others by league commissioner Roger Goodell's lawyerly performance in an interview with CBS yesterday.

Between then and now, Goodell sent out a memo to team owners and presidents that answers a few of the questions below and raises others. (When Goodell writes that the NFL "did not ask the Atlantic City casino directly for the video," for example, can we presume that means the NFL did ask for the video indirectly?) At any rate, we thought these questions would be worth putting out in public. If the NFL gets back to us with answers to them, we'll update the post.

  1. Roger Goodell said Tuesday that "no one in the NFL" saw the second Ray Rice video before Tuesday. Can you clarify exactly what "in the NFL" means? Would it include anyone acting as an agent of or at the direction of the NFL, but not employed directly by the league? Would it include anyone either employed by or acting as an agent of or at the direction of the Baltimore Ravens?
  2. What is the basis of Goodell's assertion that to his knowledge, no one in the NFL saw this video before Tuesday? Has he sent a communication to everyone employed directly or indirectly by the NFL asking if they saw this video before Tuesday?
  3. Did anyone acting as an agent of or at the direction of the NFL or the Baltimore Ravens see what was portrayed on the second video before Monday?
  4. Did anyone acting as an agent of or at the direction of the NFL or the Baltimore Ravens go to the Revel Casino at any point to view video footage of the Ray Rice incident?
  5. Was a description of the tape from inside the elevator ever given to an NFL official or anyone acting as an agent of or at the direction of the NFL? If so, what did that description entail?
  6. Did anyone acting as an agent of or at the direction of the NFL or the Baltimore Ravens request a copy of the tape from the Revel casino?
  7. Did anyone acting as an agent of or at the direction of the NFL or the Baltimore Ravens request a copy of the tape from the Atlantic City police department?
  8. Did anyone acting as an agent of or at the direction of the NFL or the Baltimore Ravens request a copy of the tape from Ray Rice or his attorney, Michael Diamondstein?
  9. Did anyone acting as an agent of or at the direction of the NFL or the Baltimore Ravens request a copy of the tape from the New Jersey state police?
  10. Was anyone acting as an agent of or at the direction of the NFL or the Baltimore Ravens aware of the elevator video's contents before Monday?
  11. Why was video of Rice punching Palmer unconscious considered "new evidence"? A criminal complaint stated that Rice had punched Palmer unconscious, and video was released in which Palmer is shown being dragged unconscious from an elevator.
  12. Multiple media reports existed that accurately detailed the events on the tape. Was Roger Goodell aware of those reports? Did Ray Rice's version of events match up with them?
  13. What, specifically, changed the league's mind about how Ray Rice should be punished after having seen the second video, given that its general contents were known both from publicly available documents and widespread media reports?
  14. Did Ray Rice's description of the events in the elevator mitigate his initial punishment? How?
  15. Were any women consulted in the NFL's decision to suspend Ray Rice for two games? Who is the highest-ranking woman in the NFL's investigative or disciplinary units?

First of all, that Commissioner even looks like he's stupid. I also think he's probably an alcoholic judging by his skin tone and engorged face. While these events should change peoples mind about the sport, it won't. I mean, people are killing themselves with head injuries and they were trying to cover it up. Come on. After that you should just assume they cover everything up.

Last thought, how come nobody criticizes that bitch for spitting in his face? I mean is spitting in a guys face socially ok now, just because you're a chick? Obviously this paragraph should not detract from the punch, but enough with chicks thinking they could do anything they want to guys.

It's a touchy subject, but it reminds me of this video:




At the end the guy says "if you're going to act like a man, I'll treat you like a man". While that girl hit the bus driver, and spitting doesn't qualify for a punch, women need to stop thinking they're above the law.

Anyway, the social rule should be for everyone to keep their fucking hands and spittle off eachother and everyone else will do the same.

Listen, by all means, if you have some football topic to discuss then go right ahead. I don't see any of you bums discussing anything in particular. If you don't like watching Keith Olberman videos then don't watch them, but they relate to the NFL and what's in the news about the NFL.

Love all that chatter about the Thursday night game btw...
 
The reason we talk about Oberman is because the NFL is as boring as baseball. It's why people talk about Super Bowl commercials.
 
I love the NFL and football in general, but could give a damn about the Ravens Steelers. I am mildly annoyed by the Ravens, mostly because their idiot fans, and have no real opinion of the Steelers at all.

Really I was just talking about the lack of talk on my part about last nights game. I'm sure I will be cussing the terribleness that is the Washington Redskins come Sunday. Or maybe I'll just give up paying attention to them, I dunno.
