Heavyweight oversized tees completely changed the way I look at fit and silhouette

I used to think oversized tees looked good purely because they were “bigger” fits.

But after experimenting with different fabrics recently, I realized the drape changes EVERYTHING.

Some oversized tees fall perfectly around the shoulders and sleeves, while others look awkward or boxy even with similar measurements.

A lot of it seems to come down to:

  • fabric weight
  • knitting
  • cotton quality
  • stiffness vs softness
  • how the fabric falls naturally

Heavier oversized tees usually drape better because they hold structure more cleanly, but bad heavyweight fabrics can also end up feeling stiff or uncomfortable.

We noticed this a lot while experimenting with oversized fits for Kapda Kulture.

Honestly made me realize why some oversized fits look effortlessly premium while others just look “oversized.”

Anyone else here pays attention to fabric drape before buying tees now?
