Hi all and thanks for the welcome!
i like the vibe here + who doesn't feel the need to spend more hours on the internet reading and discussing about menswear :)

I am changing my business model so I am trying not to post on SF. I am having a part timer do it for me. I just can't take it. I take things to personal. It's best I just step back. Here I can just hang out.

Welcome back. Definitely welcome back.

Probably should have done this when I first signed up. I forgot, but am only four posts in so will do it now.

What knocked me into finally doing an intro was the Roycru thread. I read all those swell things about Roy and I'm thinking, hey, I could be DW's Roycru. Really. Follow me here. I've got lines in my forehead. I've got a lotta baggy old shit clothes from the 60s. And we're about the same age. Actually I'm older. And on the other coast. But I could put on a really sad face and an "I Like Ike" button and stumble around begging strangers to take my pic. Anyway, here's to you, Roy, my Baby Boomer buddy (tho being elder I am actually something known as a War Baby).

I wanna post a pic here and I think it's important to look good even if you're sweating like a bastard. Especially if you're sweating like a bastard. It was very hot in Maine today. I was sweating like a bastard. Probably not the best time to take an introductory pic. But temperatures here are always happening like a bastard. In the winter I'm often freezing like a bastard. So the window of non bastardable happenings is very small. Below is one. Or I thought. But before I could put it together, I was sweating like a bastard. Anyway, say groovy three times and see a pic of an ex-hippie. Debatable maybe, the ex thing.

Be sure to check out the Get Off My Lawn pants. I am the King of Get Off My Lawn pants, tailor them myself. I have hips that would make the Sphnyx jealous and it's a design flaw. Get that: design flaw. It's not like being a fat ass or a sloucher or covered with zits, all things anyone with the slightest bit of self respect would jettison, no, fender hips are a design flaw not caught on sonograms, else we would have been parted out by Planned Parenthood before day one. So it's not our fault. So lay off this pear shaped business. Noodles, I'm speaking on your behalf here too, as well as for non-member-yet KoalaT, the guy who takes pics of himself on SF standing in Texas grass up to his ass. Shekira knows. Hips don't lie. They also give you a spot to rest a cold Molson while standing on a crowed bus. How many of you hipless monkeys can do that, eh? Anyway, thanks for letting me be one amongst you for a little while.

Groovy. Groovy. Groovy.

:welcome:
I wish more ex-hippies would wear white button downs and real trousers. Note the unaffected unbuttoned collar points in the insert photo!
I'm a somewhat long-term of Peak Peak (and cat Pine, whom apparently is an associate member on other sites, but not here). My understanding is that you are a decent self-taught DIY alterationist, doing some inventive modifications.

Hi y'all!

I first want to say that I have just read the mission statement of this forum and I wish I knew about this place sooner. The energy here is excellent. People speak freely here and are honest and true to themselves. That's at least what I've gotten from you guys so far in my first hours of membership!

I am always willing to be a source of information. In the past several years, I have learned a lot about menswear and clothing production from leading people in the industry, and I'm all too happy to share whatever I have to offer, and where appropriate.

Regarding the organization of threads: I'm comfortable just jumping on and riffing with you guys on any given thread. I think that the titles of these threads are what guide the interesting dialogue when framed against more specific questions which we bring to the table. We should keep the ability for me to just talk on a thread casually with everyone, I feel. I really enjoy this aspect.

That all being said, it would be nice to have a place for more specific questions to be set aside and organized in an easily accessible manner, so that we can reference past questions without digging too much.

If you'll have us on the forum, I promise to carry out due diligence as both teacher and student.

Christopher

just read this once more
i am crying

^^^^
Not while I'm sweating like a bastard.

Or did you mean the cat? He likes the fur. I don't know if you could tell by the pic, but its not his. There's a dead raccoon out back with no hair, so I think that's where he got it. Normally he's black.

I'd like to do a pic in the Whadda Are Ya Wearing thread and I will. But I don't fare well with a camera phone in front of a toothpaste splattered mirror by the light of a 13 watt CFL. Nor does anyone. And I'm not anyone so it's gotta be a three-P shot: precious, pretentious and pissy. Sorta like the two above. And I'm only half kidding here. (Which half will be apparent when you see the fit pic, I think.) Thnx for asking. Appreciate it.

what's up. former SF lurker, place was too serious and no fun. I don't post much since i like The Real World™ more.

I applaud both of our newest members for having avatars. We still have a few members that really need to get avatars.
