Music Of The Moment

An earlier expression of Van's mistrust of the world.

The overwhelming negative reviews of the new album, based on ideological reasons are revealing.

It's yet another weird aspect in the ongoing culture war, that musicians who wish to support furloughed and laid-off tour workers and happen to be against lock-downs are treated like pariahs by the woke.

How can a music critic slag-off Van Morrison's views and lyrics as beyond the pale and not acknowledge his support for those who provide technical and tour support for live gigs? They should, have some empathy to Morrison's position.

I think it's great that musicians like Morrison and Daltrey find themselves at the cutting edge of rebelling against a repressive culture and have more freedom loving radicalism in them than most 25 year olds. What madness is this?

Parklife was very disjointed. Along with the singles, Jubilee stood out for me. But the rest was just filler and a little bit contrived.

Yes. Late 60s.
But on second thoughts that particular record may not have been played on "the scene ' as it had been a hit. The Wheel sound by her I recall the clearest was 'It"s getting mighty crowded. ' We were very much music big daddies and it was all about exclusivity.

Elvis was a breath of fresh air in his day.

I am afraid the Northern Soul Girl would have been told to confine herself to Girls'Convent discos.
Indeed he was for quite sometime before going all too clever and contrived by far.

The lack of speed and ageing Wigan Casino punters means there's no real contenders on the manic all-nighters. She's in the top tier of dancers now. In a field of half-a-dozen.

She seems to be happy enough and pretty good at dancing. She is not doing any gymnastics but then she does not have to dance in her P.E. kit either.
She's also a Northern Soul DJ and has done a couple of good compilations.

She has an enticing demeanour, the type I imagined myself with in my elder youth - 18 to late 20s - but I'm sure she's all about 4'9''-5'1''. That's the problem with dancer types, looks good, but way too small in reality.

Haha. But this is a parody of what the dancing was like
Blokes did not really dance in my youth. They hung around drinking and observing until the last few slower dances. For reasons of economics - less need to buy the girl drinks - combined with a certain reserve.

A really crap song from the early 60s. I remember older boys used to sing this with really rude lyrics. Only ‘Little doll’ and the tune itself remained.

It appears singles may have been half a crown looking at the accompanying photos. I only remember them @6/8d or three for a pound.

It really doesn’t matter if you don’t know the band - the film is as much an introduction as a celebration. If you were a fan already, great. If you’ve NEVER HEARD OF THEM - even better!

Huge thanks to the incredible animation team, Stop motion animations created by Joseph Wallace Produced by Cardel Producers Carla Mooney & Delwyn Mooney Cinematography by Joseph Wallace & Jon Davey

A lot of people think they're British, considering them way too quirky and eccentric to be American. I think they've been more successful in Britain too.

Beat the Clock is a great track...
