I'm glad you've posted those 2 pictures because it illustrates an interesting point.

I'm all for a bit of flamboyance, but there is always the danger you will go over the line from flamboyance to preciousness.

And that is the problem with a lot of these modern day Dandies, they don't look dandified at all, they look precious, camp.
 
All this garishness is reminiscent of the louche way men dressed in earlier centuries. It seems to be a repudiation of the restrained elegance pioneered by the Beau over two centuries ago.
 
Re-reading the post again, I came across the term: 'directional dresser'
