The turtle neck

So now it seems every iGent is wearing a turtle neck with a jacket these days. I've always found turtlenecks/skivvies to be sritchy bloody things that felt like you were being born again when you put them on, and then proceeded to irritate your neck for the rest of the day (particularly if, unlike New York Islamist, you shave at some point). I thought this was why God invented cashmere scarves, but I suppose the Internet knows best.

Anyone else have an opinion?

Yeah, I get them if you are actually skiing, or on a fishing boat doing, you know, actual man's work and a scarf gets in the way. But to me they are just not suitable for walking around the city, in and out of heated buildings/public transport etc.

I'm wearing one right now, and slept in (the same) one last night.
Maybe I'm a pecil-neck, but saggy elastic is the problem that I encounter.

There's a cool 1960's Playboy vibe if you do it right, but most people aren't doing it Paul Newman style.

Good for walking around the city and tactical use.

The first pic would look better without the roil neck feature. I think the jacket calls for a more refined traditional roll or mock.

The second pic is a traditional look and has the right bulk. Works with the coat. The shoes don't work for me.

EFV's fit works. A nice casual look.

Third pic does not work. Looks more like a neck collar. Not enough bulk to the roll.

Forth pic works mostly because he looks like a seaman.

Justin's does not work because he looks like he swallows the seaman's semen.

Pink turtleneck. Yes. At least i think she is wearing a turtleneck.

I have always shunned turtlenecks because I never thought they would be flattering to my face. Besides, who want's to look like a damned turtle!

I also have long thought the turtleneck (particularly a black one) and a sport coat make you look like you have just come from some beatnik poetry reading 57 years ago.
