What Are You Wearing Today?

Invisible pocket square - what’s the point?

I use to like double monks as well as black tassel loafers worn Mick Talbot style back in the 80s. I've seen some enticing examples recently, so never say never again.

This Dunhill tie was superb until I manage to damage it in the middle ruining the yellow and blue stripes. Still good with a jumper though:

it is a 54 size washed wool from Boglioli, quite a stretchy fabric. Quite nice. To be honest and although the pictures may say a different thing, my clothes are not very tight. It is my chest that is big and out of proportion.

Casual today, with overly shiny shoes for the outfit: cheap Loake seconds from the shop in Cambridge. No bathroom floor, scusate

The shirt is Eidos, the collar doesnt look so large in real life. Why nobody wears double monks anymore?

I have them - 2 x pair of The Monk Doubles. I had them before the iGentts . Since the iGentt I wear them not so much. I wish I haded the single black monk is my wishes.

You people don't wear dub monks cause the iGents do?
They existed much before them. Just wear them with socks and with the buckles done and you'll be set.

The Chico Marx speak seems to be spreading on here.

nice. but a bit narrow for my tastes from the look of it. my world changed for the better when i stopped getting such taper. easy enough fix too, even corrected a few of my older trousers. they just hang much better and look more elegant.

Good advice. Wanting a well fitted but comfy cut is a natural evolution that comes with age. I can't bear anymore overtapered trousers.

I've preferred them from the beginning. Much more into olde Hollywood style than modern blogger style. I think I've been a viejo since I was born

The tie isn't red at all and not shiney, its a deepish burgundy, the shirt is blue stripe linen, trousers VBC flannel grey, 50 years old - Vintage Cricketeer Ivy Jacket, butterfly lined, hook vent, no front darts, swelled edges, patch flap pockets. Canny Timex. Argyle Socks, French made long wing Shoes. Tumi soft briefcase.

Big pitch with some government types, so the startup teeshirt and hoody is discarded in favour of the bumfreezer tweed unjacket and drakes sackcloth tie

Just remember tweed is casual, don't wear it to a meeting where you're going to see lots of suits

That said, at least it ain't a very countryish tweed

I know. First time I met Cerrato I told him a width of 19 cms, but he insisted in 18 cms. I said ok. I have some Zegna that are 20 cms and I don't wear them because are too wide. I don't feel well. Maybe as I get older I'll go for 19 cms again, as were the trousers of my first suits. (I'm under 30 so 18 cms does't look too bad).

That Delsiena rtw fits you better than triple costing badspoke from Merdolla.

Not in the chest area. The diagonal line that goes from the tip of the collar to the armpit doesn't appear in my Merdollas but it appears in ALL other of my RTW shirts. I imagine this is caused by my sloped shoulders.

We talk of the hips and thigh width, not of the ankle. 18 cm seems good for your physionomy and height. Good thing it fits.

Which flannel? Seems a rich and beautiful texture despite your creepy bathroom photo.
