Although according to my favourite cholo clothing store - Greenspan's - denim fabric is popular in addition to chinos. Great place for Pendleton Board shirts for cholos y cholas. If you are in LA, you have to check this place out.

Just playing with you a bit. I wondered if the odd jacket was actually greenish. Plausible reason for the unshirt. But why is it an unshirt? Does it have a tacky placket? Made by Englishmans (Bangladeshi children make them & Englishmens sew on the "made in England" label

It is one of those tissues that look quite plain from a distance, but that can surprise you with the texture and details. I think it photographs quite terribly here on the webcam, but it also has a nice powder blue windowpane with a mustard overcheck. It looks much better in this photograph, if also overly accessorized and affected. At least it is the right color of unshirt:

Perfect outfit; the Timex Weekender with the broken crystal ties everything together nicely in my opinion! More seriously, it looks like an outfit that I would happily wear: I love everything about it - especially the oxford shirt with university stripes. May I ask where it is from?

Thanks - its an outfit - variations of which I try to use a lot with similar jackets etc - sometimes sans tie. And a set of summer variations. I feel relaxed in it yet able to walk in anywhere from visiting friends to a meeting. My aim these days relaxed but smart and not overly fussy. Its what I like about the Ivy influenced stuff.

The Timex is in perfect condition - the "crack" is just an artefact of taking bad pics with a phone. That shirt is just a local brand - I think picked it up for $5 from an Opshop (charity/thrift in other languages). Its not even one of my favourites - I just grabbed it by mistake really. I have a lot of OCBDs and probably 10 or so with university stripes. The jacket is a vintage Made in USA Ivy from 60s, tie cashmere Borelli, trousers 5 pocket high rise jean cut (lightweight) moleskins. Everything except the watch and boots second hand.

My bad. My own Weekenders are generally pretty beaten up; I have a few of them lying around the house with different straps, and I will throw one on before I step out of the house on a given day. As for the OCBD, I am actually not surprised that it is a thrift-store find. What I really like about it is the pale shade of the blue stripes. The kind of the fade that you would get after they are truly broken in. :rock:

I dub this look "it's Friday, fuck it".

I also haet the David Byrne jacket. It kinda fit me when I was heavier, but now it would cover a sweater and still be roomy. Le sigh
 
yes well - out walking last night I was glad I had the overcoat. Its only butterfly lined but warm and windproof but not too hot.

Temp @ 10.00pm was around 8C with an extra wind chill factor - I dunno I suppose making it around 5C in the wind.


When I'm in the city I do a lot of walking around - besides it was fashion week so we gatecrashed a few industry doos up on Collins street on the way to the theatre, Free champagne and nibbles and bumped into a few friends and fashion luminaries on the Melbourne Mens clothes scene.

The play was Dead Royal - a one man play written and performed by the same bloke. It was a play with Wallis Simpson talk/giving advice to Diana prior to her marriage to PoW/DoW. He played both rolls well. And it was well researched as both Ms fxh and myself had just read Wallis - That Woman - and other books and knew well his subtle references to sexuality, fascism and the Mosleys etc
 
For whatever reason, Cantarelli does not get much love from the iGent crowd, but they produce consistently good stuff - some with TOP TOP tissues from Barbera, Loro Piana, etc. They also seem to have a sense of humor about them: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sSS4J9sHkTw

On a more pertinent note that block stripe Borrelli tie seems to be getting a lot of love from you fxh fxh , and deservedly so!
