What Are You Wearing Today?

A good tailor you have young man.

Some management work to get the right fit. The trousers are good but not perfect. The inner finishing is absolutely minimalist (I never discussed the choice of the lining - always midnight blue with blue fabric - or buttons colors - always black corozo) and it's a thing I appreciate because the only true refinement is to get the garment to fit good. The fundamentals - collar, shoulders, torso - are very good. He just lacks the stylistic rigor of an old master but at that price his bespoke is indeed a top value for money.

How much?

thats pretty awesome

I don't think it'll last a long time if dumb Igents join the party. His UK and US prices are certainly higher. Besides working with him can be perillous and you need to drive him seriously. Also long delay and hazardous deadlines to expect (8 to 12 months) for your first order. Globally he is a very good guy.

12 months is a lot, but still. It seems like you got good results from him. How does the back balance look? And the vents?

Mediocre back for the 1st order. Very good/Near perfect result for the third suit you see here and the winter jacket. He asked me to do Igent photos for his Instagram. If my wife agrees (tha'ts not sure), I'll show it. Problem with bumping vents with my second order (mohair suit, he's redoing it, we'll see the result in February). I'm pretty sure he subcontracts the pants work. It's sure that if I had the time to travel to Napoli I'd go by some old master Oreo-like instead. In Paris, where MTM shitty offers start at 1200 euros, it's indeed better than nothing.

1k suit by a true old master is of course a reality (see Oreo) when you're introduced well. Sarto said the true about this many times. But you won't find them on Instagram.

I wouldn't mind spending time looking for sekret tailors if I ever fly to Napoli again
I could have bought 2 or 3 bespoke giaccas for what I spent on thrifted shit lately
I don't care for the iGent hyped tailors, more expensive and poor results.
But don't want bespoke right now though, must lose weight first
Anyways congrats on what you managed to get!

So much to learn....

The best thing is a bespoke jacket without any proper filling
Big jackets on skinny men
Collapsing everything
Fabric bags
Foulds
Drapes
Hangs

So go COMMISSION some
Bespoke now

Then stop eating those huevos rotos

I would already commission something drapey
so imagine it after weight loss
I could always use it as an expensive blanket

There's something about darker shirts I strongly dislike, for some reason. Might be just me.

You are too nice. This is DW; you are supposed to say something snarky, if not altogether nasty, when you dislike my WAYWT. And suggest that I chuck everything away and start from scratch!

What is wrong with you?

I'd have like to say your outfit looks like shit but it's not true.
