2025 Hurricane, Fires, Floods & Other Awful Weather Thread

Updated the thread title. These fires going on in Los Angeles are absolutely unreal. Some of these videos coming out are nuts.

"I can't stress to you how normal this morning was in Santa Monica. It just seemed like another nice winter morning. But then, I was walking home from the gym and I just noticed big black billowing clouds of smoke."

...still time to get to the gym. Maybe yoga afterwards.

I normally run into these people when there's not a burning inferno next to them.

What is he doing?
"I have to change the location for our date tonight on Tinder"
"Did my Amazon package arrive yet?"
"Is my Google Nest still running? Can it turn on the water?"
"Shit let me check if I renewed my home insurance..."

The water crisis in LA seems very politicized. I’ve seen Trump blaming the governor and Biden blaming climate change, but the fact that it is mostly owned by a couple of billionaires seems to slip under the radar:

Its snowing in the Florida panhandle and they're ice skating on Bourbon Street. What the fuck is going on that no one is even interested in this?

It doesn’t rain a lot up there, but when it does (usually a tropical cyclone) it floods. It sounds like the floods this week were exceptionally bad though.

Super typhoon Ragasa - equivalent to a Category 5 hurricane - packed wind gusts of up to 285km/h (177mph) at its highest point on Monday, and has triggered warnings of floods, storm surges and landslides across the region this week.

Well, the Philippines survived it....

It's a 200km+ storm with waves crashing over, but hey let's go outside and take a video of with your mobile phone.
