Agreeable Menswear Post Of The Day

Not perfect – I'd change to shoo for a JMW 180 and similar coloured socks – but otherwise very agreeable.

I'd switch the suede loafer, to a 'nordic fall weather proof shoo'. Most likely a derby-style with a double leather or rubber sole. But other than that, perfectly agreeable to me.

individual pieces are nice, but we've got:

1. shirt tucked into jeans
2. sport coat with jeans
3. jeans with no belt
4. undershirt showing (aka poor man's ascot) -- worst offender
5. visible tag on the shoes

Valid points.
1. Diasagree, I never wear my shirts hanging outside
2. Diasagree, I think it works when done well
3. Diasagree, I think it works when done well
4. Agree
5. Agree, but made that way, so might be akward to cut

My critism is the watch. Hopefully only showing for the photo.

3 and 4 are the greatest crimes for me. 5 is tacky and I agree about the loose watch strap.

Sport coat + jeans = no clue. Especially that gun club style. It is casual with patch pockets but sport coat with jeans is purile. It is cognitive dissonance, mismatched upper/lower.

One would be more of a slob with blazer + jeans + untucked casual sports shirt.

I am sure the ‘tard is wearing loafers.

Denim that fits without belt does not need belt because you should not be ticking g anything in.

Unless you are an MC “
‘Tard trying to be casual.

WRT fuckwads wearing casual trews, overcoats, fucking NB anything, and pointy toques (beanies for the unwashed cunts across the globe) have lost the plot.

Countless SF ‘tards think the pointy toque is da shit.

Anyone who seeks to wear a toque, watchcap, beanie, has no clue since it is only Eurostars™️™ who think point toques look good.

They don’t. Nor do toques with pompoms look good.

Pointy Toque + overcoat + trousers not pents + trainers = full on shit show

Shirt tucked in is fine, but this is too much like a dress shirt and wrong colour - try a chambray or denim with two pockets and snap buttons or if you must an old blue OCBD.

I don't mind an untucked shirt if it's the right length - not too long and must be OPEN over a T shirt. It has to be a Kurt Cobain /Keith Richards /Neil Young vibe - not smart caz. I can't abide untucked shirts buttoned up - WTF is going on these days.

A Sport Coat with jeans only is ok if it's a quick run-up to the shops and if it's an old tweed thrown on over old jeans you had on at home - it's too put together - No.

Trousers without belt always triggers me

T-shirt under shirt can be ok - but colours are too close together here.

I don't like metal stretchy bands on watches anytime

Jeans too narrow at opening for chunky Paraboots.

That being said, he'd be in the top 5 of any well-dressed people on any street I know.

Sport coat & jeans has been a part of culture since the 60s and looks fine. No belt though….? Bizarre.

I don’t mind the watch or shoes, but wish the jeans were less tapered with such chonky Paraboots. Loafers would be better.

T shirt under an open OCBD is the height of self consciousness. I’d rather see a curb chain, ostensibly more showy but at least not as dweeby.

This. I have some ‘Safari shirts’ (two flap pockets and epaulets) that I tuck into jeans. If I was into western snaps, I’d definitely tuck those. As long as the shirt looks casual and isn’t someone getting ‘clever’ with a dress shirt it’s fine.

Old corduroy sport coat for me. But I agree it’s a fine line and easy to get wrong.

Same. Crompers always wears his jeans like that and it looks so awful.

Hard pass on the visible underwear (white shirt). Which sounds different to what you are describing

Agreed. I didn’t realise they were Paraboots - do they all come with that tacky label? Do most people remove it?

That being said, he'd be in the top 5 of any well-dressed people on any street I know.

Yup
